Is the story line different with brutal or is the only difference the death penalty? are there any perks to playing on brutal? It's a lot more exciting and the game doesn't go by as quickly because you have to be more careful and spend your XP tactically. And the monsters are tougher -- some of them at any rate. The economy is also supposed to be worse, but I haven't noticed.

The economy is also supposed to be worse, but I haven't noticed. Good point -- we do have a list of to-be-completed economic difficulty factors on the roadmap but a lot of them depend on paydata trade, paydata extraction and component buy/sell. I think as we work to bring the CK economy to life the economic difficulties will become more effective and exciting. Thanks for the reminder, it's a timely point given where we are in the development cycle of CK!

Is the option of having Eliza join been kept through various updates? Even after finding & reading the journal I still haven't been able to get Eliza to join from multiple accounts. Is really annoying me as getting paydata worth 6k when Mars data isn't hot isn't worth continuing with the character.

genji88 - sorry that you ran through it and did not get Eliza and wanted too! If you have the journal, extra dialog options appear in the conversation and you should veer toward confronting Krofter about the journal specifically, and then try to pay attention to and respond to Eliza's statements through the rest of the dialog. Sorry for the frustration, I know it is a long play thru to miss your target. We'd love to hear suggestions.

I am ok with the idea that if you never find Sarah's journal, then you never get the option for Eliza to join with you, but, assuming you find and read the thing, I think you should end up with 3 outcomes -- your choice.
1. Return them to Mars (side with Mars) 2. Put them on the boat out of here (Side with Sarah). Who cares what Eliza wants. I'm a Cyberknight. Kidnapping people and making them go places they don't want to go is what I do for a living. 3. Put Sarah on the Boat, but side with Eliza.
I don't like that what outcome you get is dependent on your conversational choices when you confront them, so that if you take one conversation path you can no longer stuff Eliza on the boat, and if you take a different one, you don't get the option to confront Sarah with the fact that she is drugging her daughter. It means that you really have to know what outcome you want, and what path gets you there, in order to take it. Which isn't emotionally satisfying. Emotionally satisfying is to be able to talk in such a way that you get all the story out, on the table, so that you know what Sarah wants, you know what Mars wants, and you know what Eliza wants. But then, and only then, it is up to you to decide what do do.

Actually, now that the fugitives are no longer sitting around like sacks of grain, I see the potential for a wonderful MnB ending. The Mars Security team shows up. Eliza runs towards them screaming, 'take me back, take me back, I want to be a CyberKnight'. Sarah screams 'No, Eliza, no!' ... the battle screen opens. Whom do you side with? And is Mars interested in taking Eliza back, or do they only want to eliminate her? I can see needing to first stun Eliza, then eliminate all the Mars goons, otherwise Mars will shoot her ...
If you side with Mars, do you get to watch them kill them both? Get ordered to kill them both to prove your loyalty?

I love that idea of ending grävling ! Maybe if you have read the journal, Eliza could immediately side with you and ask you to help her (that's would be a hell of a moment to decide)

Damn it. Damn it all. I was so happy with my character. He was strong. Getting good with him. But I missed a major bonus character? Time to start over.

Don't throw away the old character. The bonus char is really no better than any other runner you might hire, just has different art. But it's the same art as Female 3 uses, so you can see that all the time if you like, provided you have purchased the Elite version.

The bonus character does the best weapon selection options of any Runner in the game (everything but clubs, including shotguns). However, once you settle into a set of weapons, it doesn't matter as much
