Serious difficulties

To see your reputation click the Fennian symbol at the bottom of the screen. This will open a new window, displaying your heat and other information about the faction. Or click the Heat/Reputation symbol; this will display your heat and reputation in the lower right corner of the display.

The problem probably is that you simply have not gotten 50 reputation yet. Flynn's What's Next button will give you a different message when you do.

Flynn says "Keep working for me if you want, Knight, but we both know you should be headed for the top," if I ask, "What's next."

Tried everything I can think of, except dying in a fight on purpose, 'cuz maybe I got a glitch by already having high rep (above 50) with Fenns before Mallor left. Maybe, since I can't find a way to check what my rep with Fenns is, which is frustrating in this situation. Can easily find out my rep with the enemy.

If I click on Fennian symbol at the bottom if the screen, and the number in parentheses is my rep, well then, my rep is 254. I knew I had to have made it some time ago, since I've been doing successfull captures and assassinations at least since doing the bombing job. Haven't lost a fight in just as long.

I guess this means this really is a glitch, then. So, do I have to lose a fight in purpose to reduce my rep below 50 and work my way up again? Seems like a lot to lose.

it really sounds like you should head to the taxi to see if the option to head to nbz is available. Be sure to call luka and mal to end all there conversations. Then check taxi.

If there are no dialogues for Luka or Mercer, and no taxi to the NBZ, I would guess that you got caught by a bug, possibly one which has been fixed in current versions but cannot retroactively put the necessary dialogues back. What version of CK did you start this character in?

marikolily - please check Luka and Mercer for conversations, then check the Big Dig Taxi and let us know if there is anything at end of these! If not, we can try another plan to help you out

There aren't any further dialogues available with Luka or Mercer, and taxi won't go anywhere but to the Black Row.

I stated the game a few days ago, must have been version 0.9.13. If not, whatever version most recently prior to that. (Have it set to auto-update). Now using version 0.9.17.

At least if I let my character lose a fight to lower rep below 50 to work my way up again, I'd lose heat with Los V as well, which would be nice once up in NBZ. Down here it doesn't really matter at this point.

It doesn't work that way, in that losing fights to Los V doesn't make you more popular with them. But I fear to get to the NBZ you may need to start a new character. We will see what Cory and Fallen can do.

For whatever reason your post doesn't show until after I wrote many last message, so this will be a bit redundant.

There isn't anything left to talk about with Luka or Mercer - just, "Disconnect V-comm
" The only option available with the taxi is to Black Row and back.


You mentioned there may be another way to help me? If there's something I can do without losing however many fights it would take to lose rep. from 266 or so to below 50 (1?, several? ), then I'd really like that. It took a lot of work to get to where I'm at now.

Dropping below 50 and going back above will not solve the problem. If those dialogues are not there, the story is simply broken and there is no current way to get them back. The only solution would be if the Trese brothers can come up with a code solution to get the dialogues back for you in a new version.

marikolily - we are really sorry that you got stuck in the story. Not sure where the disconnect was, but most people have made it through without an issue. There must be a bug in there.

Do you remember if you ever talked to Luka / Mercer about going up top? They have a series of conversations with you about it -- did you do those, or just get stuck in a never-ending loop from Frederic?

I will think about ways we can help you. Again, really sorry for the inconvenience!

Frederic is telling her she should go topside. My guess is that she backarrowed out of the Luka conversation about 'Did you get an implant at Black Row' before that question happpened, thus the game is waiting for her answer and it will never arrive.

Or maybe it is the 'Will you work with the Fennians?' with the choices Yes/Sure that the game needs the answer for. Carrie -- do either of those conversations sound familiar?

Or Mercer's question -- Do you think you are ready?

OK, I have been able to duplicate this horrible game ruining bug.

This is a 9.17 char.

Work your way up with Flynn to 51 rep.
He says that you are ready to go to the surface, talk to Luka.
Talk to Luka
(Finally! It's NBZ time!) -- but IMMEDIATELY hit the back arrow after pressing this button.

Bang.

Flynn is done with you, the others will not talk to you, and no taxi awaits at the BigDig to take you to the surface.
