I have a bug to report.
I was checking the ship market to see what I could upgrade to. A pirate ship, I forget the name but it had a 50 hold, came up. It gave me the option to purchase, so I did. It then showed me with a negative cash balance of about 2500. I could not sell the items that came with the new ship in order to off set my debt. I had pick up a contract and complete it in order to get a positive cash balance.

Actually, that could be worked into a feature for buying ships. Take out a loan for buying a ship or equipment and have a set time to pay it all back. If you don't the bank sends out enforcers to take back the ship and break your legs. A lawful player will bust their tail trying to pay back the debt in time while a pirate would laugh while dodging the enforcers.

True, but what's to stop he pirate from abusing the system by buying the best ships, not paying the loan, and repeating?

An escalating bounty on the pirate's head would draw more frequent and harder to defeat bounty hunters. Until the pirate pays off the loan, it will become harder to keep running. Alterations to the text on planets and places such as "When you enter the spice hall, you feel all eyes on you" can increase the tension.

Hate to say it, but I barely read the full text any more. I just scan for variables in re sentances and such.

You really ought to read the flavor text. It gives me a sense of place. Plus someone took time to make it all unique.

I definitely read he flavor text the first few times around. But when I'm working the same two planets back and forth, the flavor text doesn't change. Nor do I think it should. Unless an vent happens, which is what I scan for.

we're working on getting some icons, sign-age and graphics around events, wars, prices and rumors, so that they're more visually appealing and obvious

I don't want and your grover to be offended by my lack of reading. It's because I play at work and I can only get in a couple minutes here and there of game time.

I don't know if this is a related bug with the latest release. I had about $120K. I went to trade in my Vae Victus for about $24k for a ship with a 50 hold. The total out of pocket was roughly $89k. It said I couldn't afford it, then my cash on hand was down to about $34k with no new ship.
Edit for spelling because droid x typing sucks sometimes.
