Hi.
Great game. Same as Star Traders. So... I've started Made not Born - got out of tunnels. Started doing some jobs for Fennians. And more. Rep with them is now 98. I'm working for Cava Saint via phone contacts and with others at sites. I've got chip for taxi driver from Ricco's Boat. But I've never met Moxa Trow and I have no idea where are those backrooms? Thank you for clarification.
BTW my stats are currently:
Body 5 (impl7) Str 2 Athl 5 Brawl 3
Dex 4 Stealth 4 Firearms 7 (impl8)
Mind and associated skills at 2 That's 153 total exp for 39 days - so I assume I missed something. With that mk251 bounty rifle and MT Taser Glove its quite good combo. I also use Hades Hardsuit Bal8, Defl8, Dodge-3 (from tunells, elite) but want to check armor with higher def bonus for a change when I can afford it.
One other question I couldn't find answer on forum yet: with caring more items, what is Gear Load (in my case its 12/9) and how does it affect game?
Also I've noticed steady lost in payout for contracts - today I was getting only 100-300, no matter if it was assassination, capture, or message delivery. Is it normal?

Look for VIP rooms. They are marked by on the map as a cross withe a head, bottle & glass, connector symbol and a question mark. You usually need a minimum of 5 rep (this may vary) and usually cost 15¥ to get in. You may have to bide your time in the back. Make sure you have enough creds to keep you going. Frequently you'll also exit '[exhausted]'. Have crammers on hand or be ready to dash to a hotel/safe house.
Jobs can and do vary in cost. A very rough & ready rule higher cost means higher danger. Keep slugging at the 'easy' jobs. It's more xp to use :-

For Fennian backrooms (where Moxa is) you want either Fennian HQ or the Wet Bar. You press the Listen button, then the buy a drink button, then the listen button -- and people will walk into the room. Eventually the woman you want will arrive.
Gear load does nothing as of yet. In the future we won't be able to carry an arsenel on our backs and so will have to store our stuff somewhere. But since _locked doors_ aren't implemented yet, and a few other things, this will have to wait.
Even though Cava is the Fennian ladder connector, you don't have to do jobs for him. You can do them for _any_ Fennian connector, all Cava cares is that your rep climbs. So if you think the prices for his jobs stink, you might try the Howling Sea Inn or the Wet Bar or any of the other places and see if you like what you see better.
Your dex is rather low for using a Hades hardsuit.
Your AP total is very low. Action points are calculated as 3 + (dex + int + per)/2 rounded down, so you have 3 + (4 + 2 +2 )/2 or 3 +4 which is 7. You can shoot your mk251 1 time and use your gloves once with this which means that you only get any AP to use for movement out of your stim use if your MP is 9 or higher. And no aimed shots, or positioned blows. I'd stuff some XP into int and per (and nevermind the skills that depend on them for a while) until my AP total was at least 9.
Best of luck, write if you have any more questions, it is what we are for.

Thanks Yurak and grävling, it seems I was looking in those places just not long enough. Could you just confirm, that Moxa is next part of the story? Are there any other spots I can continue story? And thank you grävling, as I've read your guide about xp allocation and I wasted only like 6xp on skills under mind. I currently increasing dex for AP, then costwise as you suggest. I needed that firearms higher because I couldn't reliably kill those mars and Atech enforcers reliably. Armor is from tunnels, that was most expensive one - before I've read your post about defense/soak damage. So at the moment its tank build because I cannot afford anything different with contracts of 200 and healing costs sometimes taking most of the price - especially as I feel the need to keep MP at 10+ to have more AP.

Moxa is the next part. My goodness, you are killing Mars corp soldiers with those stats. My brutal-accustomed heart just about stops to think about it. Have fun!

Well, its easy and I die if I'm surrounded on the open. In some sitiuation tactic cannot help much. I always try to position myself in narrow line or behind corner and then fight or retreat if more than one comes. I find it hard for melee units because all I need to do is move one space away and they have to have at least 3AP to advance. I'm just training Cybersword runner. I think he died but I was able to locate him and hire him again. It seems resonable because otherwise it would be very hard to get him to 50xp. I just dont know if he keeps same gear I would buy him and would that gear affect hiring price? And what restriction are there for gear for runners/allies? Now I recall there was a topic about allies, I'll have a look later. Thanks, and have fun too Edit: I found answer for xp in startradersrpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=ckrpgtalk&thread=3526&page=1Edit2: I found topic about Runners and weapon/armor restrictions. I underestand how equipment works, now I just need to know if they can keep equipment after leaving service and is equipment affecting price to hire?

They keep equipment. It does not affect the price to hire them. But if they die, they are gone and so is the gear they were wearing. The same name just repeats some time -- I guess 'Cibi' and 'Rika' are common names in 2217. I hope the Cybersword you are trying to make an ally is from Mars VIP rooms or BraveStar VIP rooms. Those are much better than the ones you get from Fennian, or Los V VIP rooms -- because they can use the cyan shock /taser gloves as well.

Thank you for saving lots of my time again! Yes, he is from Fennian and he cannot use glove - I've just checked. So hes going to bin. And it was real pain to keep him alive without armour. First I have to be able to afford something before I start training runners.
So back to looking for main story. I just hope I wouldn't have to many problems by ruining rep with K.Horizon, Yakuza or Streets - its -50 to -70 now. Now I'm working fo Lt. Simons finally. Contracts for escort are for 400-450. Is that normal payout?
One more question - when I end combat, there is button called intimidate. My intimidate at 2 didnt produced any results so far and there is no point in developing it at the moment - but what does that button do?

Actually I thought you could still locate them even if dead. @cory/ andrew could you confirm this? S you can find them in the VIP rooms in your network marked as deceased, yes. But they won't come to you and their stuff is inacessible. Also you can get another runner with precisely the same name, and it _isn't_ the same runner.

I must say, that last Cybersword I let die (Wingman - XP total 11, XP ready 5) is still available. Must be the same one because of xp, name and since I havent hired any other Cybersword so far. I can locate him with around 50% chance, and hire him for 114. Probably they wont sie untill some level or total exp, to allow easier change to allies - or its easy difficulity, which might apply same rules as for main character.

Your dex is rather low for using a Hades hardsuit. Well... here's another question for mechanic I don't really understand even reading previous posts about soaking damage and defense. I have new armor. Dex is still 5. Its hardened Infiltrator Suit with Bal4, Defl 3 (4 augmented) but with +4 dodge. (by the way Dermal Lacing I described as +1 body, +1bal, +1 defl only changes armour deflection, not ballistic. Not sure if its only on display) My previous armor was hardened Hades Hardsuit Bal8, Defl7(8 augmented) and -3 dodge. With new armor I'm getting hit between once every two times to every three times. I definitely take damage every three times. So I just died from those predator/horizon drones with 20AP. My own allies from BraveStar! Nasty things with four minigun attacks. I think with previous armor I was taking damage once every four times. Things I'm not sure of: 1. Is body influencing soak damage? 2. Is it body+bal/defl minus penetration and then power+roll? 3. Would that mean that those implants increasing body would also increase soak damage? 4. And finally, do I need to click evade all the time to get dodge bonus? (so far I didn't have AP all the time, but I couldn't notice difference in efficiency. Edit: 5. Sometimes I'm getting all contacts text on red background. What does it mean? Edit2: Just testing, in old Hades Hardsuit I survived 18 attacks from predator drones, beeing hit 5-6 times for 1-2 damage. Used one +6 medkit. Then I took down AzTek security and drones, assasinated contract and happily wend back to office for another mission to improve standing with AzTek. Seems in my case armor with better protection instead of dodge works better. 6. With improving my dex, will it make another armor better? Please advise.

Seems in my case armor with better protection instead of dodge works better. 6. With improving my dex, will it make another armor better? Please advise. This may be a difference between how brutal plays and how easy plays. Or your dex may still be just too dreadful. I think your dermal implants have a bug, and you should report it in the bugs section. I don't know if the problem is that they are giving you protection but not reporting it, or not giving you protection you paid for, but something is wrong there. Yes, Predator Drones are nasty things. Improving your dex will make whatever armour you have work better, as you will be able to avoid more hits, period. I've never seen all contacts text on a red background. I think you should report that as a bug, in the bugs section, too. You never have to click evade even once to get the dodge bonus. It's always there. Improving Body makes you take less damage when you are hit. The other thing that is helping your soak damage, aside from more body, is that your Hades Hardsuit is HARD. Hard armour absorbs some damage, guaranteed. It's nice stuff that way. :-) But the way I see it, your problem is mostly that you have decided to march around BS and corp land while having stats I consider too weak to leave ganger land with. And I would be nervous in Yakuxa territory. But if you are having fun, that is all that matters.

I've never seen all contacts text on a red background. I think you should report that as a bug, in the bugs section, too. Thank you for all the tips, much appreciated. With that red background it is, more precisely, frame around text. There is sometimes red and sometimes blue. Maybe there is a connection with some rumors? I couldn't find connection yet. It doesn't look like bug... well, I'll leave it for later. But the way I see it, your problem is mostly that you have decided to march around BS and corp land while having stats I consider too weak to leave ganger land with. And I would be nervous in Yakuxa territory. But if you are having fun, that is all that matters. Hmmm... I'm just following where Lt. Simmon sends me. So BraveStar territory (which already have drones). Rarely I go inside Mars, AzTek or Yakashima. I just improved rep a little with Mars, Blue Ox and AzTek to be safer while traveling. Unfortunately somebody sent me on assassination against Yakashima twice. But Yakuza is not a problem, I'm winning most fights is a way that they just don't shoot me - corners, more running than shooting, but I need to have more AP then them. I'm just looking at implants now. Which ones are the most efficient in your opinion?

I mostly do without implants except for the level 3 dermal armour at Saytek's. The expensive implants I cannnot afford, and by the time I can afford them my stats are so good I do not see the need. The cheap ones don't give me as much of an advantage as I want to lose DV for them, because I would rather improve my stats. Sometimes I buy cyberclaws from Saytek's as well. Otherwise -- well to be different from time to time I sometimes try them. And you need memory and a dataport if you are going to carry messages around in your head.
And, well, what I meant about your stats was that I wouldn't have told Moxa I was ready to go over the wall until my stats were higher. Much highter.
