Can someone please explain how the amount of crew required for you ship is calculated? From what I can deduce from other posts the engines and guns on your ship all need 1 person each whilst in combat, is that correct?
Thanks

Depends on what you're asking about. In Combat depending on your Ship's design and your moves. The Ship's design requires a certain number of Crew. No ship designs are produced by the design program with "under crew" so you can be safe with the number of starting Crew. Anything over the base ship design Crew will become "spare Crew" that will be very useful avoiding accidents and winning Boarding combat. Spare Crew plus Weapons = Win

Ah I see thanks, out of interest are weapons useful for defending against boarding of just offensive boarding?

Not sure this applies... I ended a fight between me and a pirate with 1 crew member and 5/50 engines. I still puttered my way back to the cadar home world.
