Bounty Hunters couldn't kill him. Pirates feared him. The Royal Houses considered him the scourge of the galaxy. The Captain that could not be killed, was finally done in by a reality bomb.
It is as if he never existed. His achievements are forgotten, his years of service are as if they never occurred.
The reality bomb known as a factory reset is what it took to eliminate Hyperion Star Hero Holy Executioner Blackheart.
Okay, you are saying, you should have backed up your data, dude.
Well, I did, but the stupid program that claims to back things up, backs up pretty much nothing that the factory software doesn't already backup.
I'll try pulling some tricks out of my hat to restore the data, but I'm not very confident I will be able to.
So how about an option to backup player data to the SD card, or have the option to just have it all stored there to begin with. I pulled my SD card before the restore so I still have all of that.
Beyond a system restore, a drop of a phone onto concrete or into a puddle of water will kill a phone, but SD cards normally survive.
Please protect us all from reality bombs and let us store our essences in a safe place.

I'm not sure if it's only an option available to rooted phones, but MyBackup Pro has a backup apk+data option that does indeed backup all of your captains with star traders. I've used this many times whenever I wipe my phone to install a new OS.

I'll take a look at that program.
I was thinking about getting a new phone in a couple of months when my contract is at a point where I get the full discount. At that time I'll need a way to transfer my data to the new phone.
Some way to back up captains and progress like achievements would be nice. Its bad enough I lost my favorite captain, but losing all of the achievements is probably worse.

I don't recommend myBackup, it failed to me once (lost savegame was a result...) and the free version is usable only few days. Titanium Backup is much better.
