I have rep 32 with Fennian.
Flynn says that I am not ready for more dangerous work (than pick up from Los V tunnels).
He is giving me escort missions anyway.

hmmm. never got the escort message from Flynn, now getting the one about assassination and capture jobs. Could I have just missed it?

grävling - the dialogs are not tied to the jobs you get. The jobs you get are 100% determined by your Reputation. THe dialogs are determined by whenever you decide to ask Flynn, "What's enxt."

But the dialogues are supposed to be tied to reputation as well, no? If I have rep 2 with Fennian, it doesn't matter how many times I ask 'what's next?' -- he's not going to tell me about other sorts of jobs until my rep passes a certain point, no? |

grävling - correct. The dialogs are tied to the Reputation as well. Just being clear that you can get assassination jobs without ever getting that dialog.

Indeed, how I work things is I wait until I am getting a new sort of job, and then ask 'What's next?'. And he almost always, as expected, has a new dialog for me about this new job that I now have the rep to get. What I am reporting is that, sometimes, I don't have the rep for the new job, but I get one anyway. Then when I ask Flynn 'What's next?' he says that I am not ready for a new sort of job. Except that he just gave me one. This has only happened twice -- once I got an escort as my first job with 0 rep, and just now I got an escort again even though my rep was too low -- 32 is too low a rep for escport, no? Because either 32 is too low for escort (and I shouldn't have got one) or 32 is high enough that 'What's next?' should give me a talk about escorts. Correct? |

The minimum rep for the escort jobs is 26. I wonder of the dialog minimums and the jobs have gotten out of sync somehow.

I'm wondering if instead it is some sort of general 'the game thinks it has already told me that it has reached this state, but I have seen nothing' problem. This would explain missing buttons, too if the problem is very basic (like a bad race condition that we occasionally see). Won't explain the 0 rep and got given escort, though. That's got to be something else. |
