I read your M.O. guide and thought I would try it again based on the guide lines. I have been taking assassination/combat missions. The problem is, since my piloting and stealth skills are only 1, every time I find my target, I hit advance to get up close to board and duel, the enemy flies away and my contract fails with just 1 button push. I undertand why it happens, but it is very frustrating. And this is only on challenging mode.

Just want to add that I keep lading out my piloting skill to try and keep up with the enemy. They still keep getting away. During combat, what are the variables that determine if you advance on the enemy and if you keep in range. I keep trying to board as per your MO guide, but they keep getting away or hitting me and wrecking my engines. If I try to girl then to hit their engines, my girl misses and they leave. Keep in mind, this is on contract enemies, ones I really don't want getting away. Maybe an option to keep tracking down the opponent to start another fight if they get away?

torpedoes are really good at tracking down fleeing ships.
i often start with a torpedo or two, go to advance and then, if i'm trying to Board use "Deck" to terrify and demoralize the Crew of the enemy ship.

Hmm, didn't know morale was a variable in the fights. The only problem I see is that in the becoming torps are almost $1000 each. Fire off two hits and now you have to take at least $2000 off of the contract. :/

If I try to girl then to hit their engines, my girl misses and they leave. I'm assuming "girl" is a typo, correct? Just curious what you meant to use instead. "Gun"? Only asking because I'm finding out that there's lots that other people know that I don't.

I think on early missions the best substitute for a sweet pilot or high solar sail is some high end torpedo. Buy them at Faction places if you need to replace them.
Torps are GREAT at long Range.
Torps, if they miss are not used up.
Torps, even if they miss, make it very hard to get away.
Torps, if they hit, do great damage and can sometimes even get a shockwave that avoids armor (5%)

Yea, I come to this board on my Droid X, it has no physical keyboard so the auto correct kicks in and sometimes changes a word and I miss it on my own spell check. Either that or my Captain likes to load his torpedo tubes with ex wives. One or the other.

So he tries to nag and henpeck his enemies to death? That's just cruel.

Yea, I'm right there with you. I tried texting a friend to tell them "I'll be in manayunk tonight", which is the name of a town near Philly, but I didn't realize until it was too late that it ended up being "I'll be in manstink tonight".

I know some girls who could say they'll be in manstink at night.
