I had an odd experience today while fighting two ships. I have a Jango class ship outfitted with only Leviathan armor but I had a full complement of 8 missiles. With the first ship I fire two missiles that hit. I win by boarding. After looting their cargo I leave but I find all my missles gone. I return to a friendly planet and restock. The same thing happens with the next fight but I only fired one missile.
My prior ship was a Mars class with 2 missiles, but I never lost the second missile if I fired only one. Has anyone else seen this?

When you boarded them, they boarded you too and blew up your torps.
They're just irritated that you beat up their captain.
And no, I'm not joking.

That's nice sapper skills. Blow up 8 torps without harming the ship

Well ok, maybe they didn't blow up the torps (it would really destroy both ships), but they sabotaged them beyond repair. But I did notice that even when the message said that I've boarded the enemy and dealt 10 damage and his shot missed - I did take damage (guns, torps, engines, you pick). And I've no idea if this should happen. Because of that, I've abandoned the boarding strategy and shoot engines instead. Doesn't work for aliens though

I'm pretty much off of torps myself. I'd rather have the engines to close, disable enemy engines, and go about my business. Torps don't leave much salvage and I seem to get hosed at long distances anyway.

As an update, my last two fights have involved missile use but I have had no abnormal missile loss. So now I am not sure what is going on. It would be nice if I could take missiles from defeated ships.

When pirates do manage to beat you in a fight (or you accidentally hit "surrender" a couple of times, they do take some of your guns and torps. I think it only fair that if you have an engineer/mechanic officer onboard, then you should be able to take a few of the loser's hardware on a battle win.
Also, has anyone noticed that quite a few ships that you attack seem to have no water-fuel or luxury food?

Aye, it seems that's the case with all military ships. No cargo at all. Like oldalchemist once said about atmo hauler, slightly modyfied by me: "We ain't got room for your fancy extra water, boys. This is a military ship, not a Star Liner. You will recycle your waste and you will like it!"

I thought military ships were supposed to have good chow? All the drunks in the spice hall tell me that they've got luxury rations. Is it just a recruiting tool?
