Achievements

Here are a couple suggestions for Awards/Exploits/Achievements.

Specifically:

-when going to the Hall of Records, the achievements button should be greyed out if there are no new achievements to claim

-In the list of awards there is already "completed" for total completed awards, "character" for awards completed by this particular captain, and "possible" for a list of all possible awards. Each of these have a use, but I think there should be a tab for awards that have *never been completed* either for the specific captain or universally. This is extremely useful imo and could give me direction for what i want to do next.

-It would be cool if there were more achievements and maybe some more complex hoops to jump through to get them. This can especially increase replay value. Maybe an award for capturing every kind of ship or a "risk/luck award" for driving around with fuel or hull in the red for a few years. Its not even necessary to have rewards for all of these either, but there are plenty of completionists who do stuff like this just for the heck of it.

To make the button grey the game would have to make a lot of checks if there's a new award and that would slow it down I guess. I'm not sure about it thugh, just figureing out from one of Cory's posts.

I'm all for the 'uncompleted' awards button, too.

skarletlightning -- Great first post, welcome the forum! I appreciate you taking the time to post this well reasoned suggestion.

cynik -- Unfortunately, at this time I believe that your statement is correct -- the checks required to validate the awards are currently somewhat expensive and slow.

I spread them out a little, cheating -- it does part in the palace, part in the record hall, and part when you click the button -- this avoids ANR crashes (which are bad news bears!)

That does not make the current interface any better -- but helps explain why it is that way.

oldalchemist -- I agree with skarletlightning as well, I see how the uncompleted list is probably more useful than the lists today. It is inclusive vs. exclusive in the database and I think I can add it!

I'd be OK with the unearned awards showing up only from the main screen, too. You don't really need to check it at the Hall of Records, but you might want that filter when you're making up a new captain for the purpose of earning unearned awards.
