Gaining XP faster would have too many negative aspects compared to the benefits. Maybe bonus XP for the first 1,000 turns maybe, but for it to be permanent, and across all captains makes it too big a gain. Cash bonus for level 100 could be good - or a cache of stuff that is yours. Think of it as an inheritance. You don't get rapid XP for your life, but you go get a nice nest egg left from a veteran uncle

1000 turns would be better than nothing. Or I giant XP start (like 500 XP) so its like your not starting from the VERY beginning. Your "starting credits bonus" is nice also.
To make this award really cool, you could make it so that you have to unlock everythng else first, so it would be like a "unlock all" award + lv100 award.

zalztorus - welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your experience. All Trese Brothers games have a very serious difficulty scale, and it often takes people off guard because they simply don't expect Challenging to be so! It's a great point about trying to warn people that early combat is bad. Through what means would you, personally, have gotten the message best? If the First Mate told you? If you saw it in the "intro screens" explaining the game, or if it was int he help file? We'd love your feedback. And again, welcome to the community! First mate warnings would be cool, though for every encounter it might get a little annoying. Intro screen would be best in my oppinion please please PLEASE don't overdo it with the warnings. I love the way this game just throws you into the galaxy and says "You want to survive? Figure it out. Can't? Tough." (hence my obvious love of Dark souls) Nothing is more rewarding than when you finally do master the system, and i haven't quite yet. In any stretch. Too many games today baby you with tutorials ad nauseam and in my opinion it greatly takes away from the overall experience. Love what you're doing, devs. Keep it up ;D
