It would be nice if fog-of-war updated as a knight moves (understandably there may be performance issues to consider).
One particular scenario that has got me in the past... moving a scout... if I move him multiple squares in one turn he can land almost on top of a xeno that he formerly could not see. Guaranteeing him taking some blows.
It would be nice if there were some sort of flag on the xeno that indicates whether he had previously been spotted... if he hasn't then the moving knight stops moving the moment the xeno comes into sight.
I say xeno above but mean any hostile ai.

Yep - would love the FOW being updated in real-time, although in saying that, I can also see the argument against a full updated view. If you are moving at speed (moving 6, 7, or 8 squares in a single turn), you're obviously hoofing it. You have to accept that you're not looking around quite as carefully as if you were moving slowly but surely (say 2 - 3 squares, then holding position until phase 2 of the turn). As such, you wouldn't see the xeno hiding in the shadows until you're almost upon it.

I'm pretty happy with the results but I can see that it does make the game slightly slower and more difficult.

It's funny, because if you have "hide AI movement" unchecked, the screen bounces around all of the places that aliens are moving, but you don't get to see anything because of the FOW. Also, the amount of time delay between you pressing the Turn button and the next phase being available gives you an indicator of how many Xeno's are on the level.
