Another of my wish list threads got a bit de-railed with a discussion about Safe Houses, so I'm making this thread to discuss them and some issues brought up.
Issue 1) Water Damaged Apartment in East Narrows...should it be removed from the real estate listings or replaced as a reward for Victor from Blue Ox?
Issue 2) Do we want/need more safe houses, specifically in zones/factions that don't have them currently like AzTek or one of the other Blue Ox zones besides East Narrows?

Here are some ideas I have about safe houses that could add to the games flavor, 1: If your leasing them then how long is the lease for? Adding an actual time limit to the lease might make things more interesting. 2: Having a limit on how much property you can own at one time could also be neat. 3: If your safe house is in a faction you have negative rep with, they seize it to prevent you from hiding from them. Some suggestions made elsewhere. ;D I like #1 #2 might be interesting as you would have to put more thought into which properties to get. I don't like #3 as that defeats the whole purpose of a Safe House which is to provide a bolt hole for times when a faction has it out for you. Perhaps having Hotels refuse you service if your rep is too bad would be more fitting.

I also like #1 and #2. #3 is... questionable. I think your idea of having hotels refuse service is a good one. OR maybe the prices in an area with a negative rep could be doubled?
Maybe have a safe house be rentable for a week or two at a time? Having some kind of limit would dovetail nicely with the limited amount of property thing. Of course, time limiting the rent would probably require prices to be rebalanced.

Sorry if I did not see the ideas mentioned elsewhere, not trying rip others off. Having hotels refuse to serve you or charge more is a good one. I imagine the lease time limit of being at least six months or a year.

how about if you have negative rep and stay in a safe house there is a chance that a security team breaks in while your trying to rest and you have to fight them off.

I do think making the game more reactive to your reputation is a great idea.
ST has hundreds of reputation reactive rules and CK has far fewer,
Denial of Service is a great option. Interesting to think about how it tees into the idea that the Cyber Knight is a special social caste.

I'd like to have savehouses marked on the map. It is pretty hard for me to track where the next savehouse is at after I completed a job. Knowing there is a savehouse around before i accept a job would be nice too, a little icon on the map would be great! Great game by the way, getting even better with every update -thx!

That's a great idea! I created an internal ticket for us to keep track of this suggestion, and add it to CK ASAP. The number for reference is CK #2043

Hmm... The one with the Hotels costing more / denying service, is good. If a knight has -Rep with all factions, he's been DDoS'ed! ;D
