Is there any reason to spend XP on a Berserkers ranged skill before all other skills are maxed out?

Here's another question dealing with Berserkers. Does the Atreus and Ward benefit stack if both the Armor and Shield have those enhancements?

I don't think raising range (or tactics beyond the point or two to top up movement) helps in any way. Cory has implied that wards stack, not sure about Atreus.

Dunno if I'm necro here or not, but there IS clearly a point to raising ranged on berzerkers. Unless I've misunderstood the basics if the game. That purpose would be ranged defense.

Im wondering about this myself. Granted range does help in range defense but so does evasion. I dont see the point in raising range for berserkers since it wont contribute to range accuracy as a melee specialist. Since range defense is range + evasion equally, it makes more sense to dump points in evasion.

With all of the berserkers that I have nurtured, the highest their Ranged stat got to was 3. In fact, the more established berserkers only had quickness raised to 4, tactics left at 2, strength surprisingly left at 2. This was even after 50+ battles. About 60% of my points went into Warrior and the remainder into Evasion.

Berserker is a heavy focus build, no doubt.
Thanks for the Templar Battleforce content!
