Someone on the Elite review board said: "Impressive amount of content.. but at times it seems to suffer balance issues. Too many hostiles in the same spot can crush any campaign in an instant"
I think someone may have posted on the forum about this as well -- the "everyone including grandma"
What you have probably hit is a rumor like refugees, merchants, pirates or navy crackdown.
Some of those increase encounters by 500%.
GO AROUND!

To avoid the risk of discouraging players who, like the review poster, think it's a game design flaw, give a toaster hint that the behaviour is intentional. "[Merchant/navy/civilian/refugee] traffic in this sector is exceptional heavy". This could be similar to when you enter a Zone and discover the Rumour applying to that Zone, but in this case it's a Deep Space Rumour. No Officer required (since it's a statement of the obvious anyway).

The auto move after retreating from encounter (or won encounter) is bad thing here, because you can't do anything. You keep on encountering 20 ships. Maybe it would be good to be able to decide if we want to continue the previous move or take another route?

You should be able to touch the screen anywhere to abort navigation. That is probably a bad UI, but adding another layer of dialogs just won't work with the existing options and architecture. I am playing around with an "Abort" button that appears during flight that allows for an immediate all-stop. spike -- I like that idea, and it doesn't conflict with any of the game's existing features -- shouldn't be too hard to code either. Added to the list.

I try to touch the srceen, but most of the time I'm not fast enough . This also caused a strange bug to me few times. The sreen fades, like when you long press any space, but the window with coordinates and planet name won't appear, so there's no button I can press, the only way is to push 'home' button on my phone and launch the game again. It's not a problem for me, but it can discourage other players
