In the same way that radio stations used to reward people who reported traffic accidents and the like which cause traffic slowdowns -- in the days before cell phones made this effortless -- with small cash rewards for the first person to report a problem, maybe CyberKnights who run into Toxic Spills, or a non-working phone could race to the phone and try to contact the news station. You could start with the V-chip of the NewsHound.
Then, if you got to the phone early enough before the event just went live, you could get a small amount of cash, or the NewsHound could trade rumours with you. If you got a rumour from the NewsHound (or provided one) it would go in your own list of rumours.
I can see how in the future the NewsHound could be interested, not in the common news of public dangers and inconveniences, but actual dirt on the corporations, politicians and the famous. Life is too hard for a mere mortal to become an investigative reporter -- the sort that goes digging after a story. If investigative reporting hasn't gone completely the way of the Dodo to be replaced by Reality TV, then newstations too will need CyberKnights to do their investigations.
A private-eye CyberKnight would also be fun to play.

I like the idea of a V-chip for a newshound. Another concept for this could be for the newshound to buy ANY paydata from you, but at a reduced price (somewhere between 80% ~ 50%?).

But don't the megacorps and hell even the gangs already know your every movement already? I mean that's how heat works. So really they would know about it pretty much instantly anyway.

My idea for the NewsHound was that he wanted to provide news to the citizens, who are kept even more in the dark by more powerful corporations than citizens are today.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using proboards Um, between proboards and possibly your phone I am unclear on the message. You like the idea of newshounds? perhaps? or -- you have a longish treatment you want us to wait for? or .... whatever it is, we are waiting
