Make it possible to bribe your way into backrooms with credits or killing someone etc.fir those that don't feel like [edit: being friends with] ALL of the factions.I think this would be a neat feature, and definitely make VIP rooms more than just a novelty feature that feels tacked on.

I don't really agree with this, mainly because the whole idea of a VIP room is that the people in the back will be friendly/higher ups in the faction. Because of this, having someone in the backroom that is not friendly/higher up in the faction wouldn't really mesh.
Put simply, it would be like a (modern day) cop being able to bribe his way into a gang's hang out and chill out without any negative consequences. I just don't see it working conceptually.

its supposed to be a lawless, corrupt world.do faction leaders in post apocalyptic worlds only cater to people who run fetch quests for them?

Not to get into a virtual argument, but it doesn't make sense. Since the NBZ is supposed to be a lawless, wild-west sort of environment then a non-faction-friendly person being in what amounts to a faction stronghold (the VIP rooms are only accessible to people that the faction knows and trusts) would result in that intruder being quickly dealt with.
Today a police office could walk into a gang run bar and (probably) not have anything happen to him or her. Why? Because there is a strong rule of law and the gang knows that if it were to take action against that person it would only serve to damage the gang long term.
In the NBZ a Los V thug walking into a streets VIP room would probably catch a bullet in the brain pan because there is already open conflict between the two factions. Since a state of aggression exists between all factions in the NBZ (well, sometimes they have truces) it wouldn't make sense for someone that is unknown to, say, Bravestar to walk into a Bravestar stronghold. At best they would be letting an unknown have access to valuable information, people or gear and at worst they would be allowing an enemy agent to spy on them.

Its a game, not real life..hence why its called entertainment.there are rules in life, but in games you are free to do whatever you like.so your argument is pointless really.besides it was a suggestion for the developers.unless you are a dev on this game, then I don't hold much value in your opinion.

I must agree with gravling. While it is true C& A make the final decisions, the point of posting idea IMHO is to discuss them with other members and build on them.

The forum is intended as a place for the community to come together, in a public place, and discuss the future of the games, how to play them, and strategies. Etc. Other things too. Crack jokes, have fun, be nice to each other. Etc.
If you don't want the feedback from the rest of the community, a private email to my address ( atrese@gmail.com ) is best.
Of course, as Cory has explained before, we are in the business of making games that we like to play. So, as the devs, we hold the final decisions.

I'm feeling the 'be nice' got lost in this one! Noticed that it quickly devolved into an inarticulate elitism. Can we agree to at least not be so abruptly rude, travis? Or, at a minimum, attempt to adhere to some form of grammar if we absolutely must be rude?

In my opinion, I think the trend in Cyber Knights will be to see Reputation affecting -more- things, not less. Anything else starts to take the world apart and dissemble existing, valuable inter-connections.

Just my two cents. Yes it's a game, that in fact makes the point. You as a player can, and to some extent SHOULD push the boundaries. But EVERY game not only HAS rules but is in essence defined by them. That Vice game, for example, is designed to let you do almost anything that you want. But everything that you do is defined within a set of rules, I.E. You can pull that guy out of his car and steal it but if you run into everything the police start chasing you and eventually the military becomes involved. This game is not about lawlessness, it's about the ordered power structures that are created out of world destroying chaos. You can't pick and choose whether story is important, either it is, or it isn't. To me it's paramount. A game without story might as well be checkers to me, which can be fun with people, more for the social engagement than the GRIPPING round of checkers. The story says that the factions have the power NOT the Cyber Knights. So if the factions say "G.T.H.O. unless we like you." Story wins every time, according to my opinion. It would seem that most of the players on this forum, not to mention the developers, feel the same way. On a final note, I personally feel like your kind of self centered and childish behavior is exactly what has killed the vast majority of good games, if not most of the quality ANYTHINGS, in my life.
**steps off of the soapbox**
Thank you for your time, and I apologize for anything here that may have offended anyone OTHER than Travisbee.
