Not certain what gear is on the horizon, or perhaps even in and i've not found, but I am hoping for more variety or more of a hierarchy of weapons for my punchy knight. Worked up the yakuza line and the fella in the backroom talked about a sword! Yes please! Ooo, and sharks with lasers.

Haha, I agree with this but am pretty confident that there is more gear coming on the horizon. I'm sure Cory or fallen will stop by and confirm/deny what is on the horizon in terms of gear, but in the mean time you can get some special gear for going through the ladders. I'm not sure if you want to know, but I can say you get a special beat-down stick for completing the (current) Los V ladder.

IIRC, Cory said that swords and such stuff is definitly on the to do list. I know this, because I asked him on exactly that Yakuza sword topic before.

We are working on more melee items. Right now we are working on an effort across the boards for weapons to fill in gaps and adjust prices. Some of the melee options (like clubbers) lack a wide enough set of options. We are going to keep increasing the catalog and available weapon types, definitely! But it has to mix in among other work.

Right now brawlers lack a weapon that does only, or even primarily physical damage. The cyan gloves do Mental only, the brown gloves, cyberclaws and the clubs all do a mixture, and I think that the bias is for somewhat more mental than physical damage. I want a great big stick for destroying Predator Drones. They only have 5 physical points -- it is frustrating to whack the drone again and again and again and have the attacks connect -- but the Drone is still floating there...

grävling - great suggestion. As mentioned, we need more club variety. #CK-1110!

As usual, grävling makes a good suggestion that I agree with. Having a melee weapon that is focused on physical damage would be nice. When I first started following the XP guide that grävling posted I would routinely be wrecked by drones and their 20+ mp. Maybe modify the sprite of the street king/club into a more warhammer-y thing and have it use more AP for a larger physical punch?

Yes, having both shock mauls (high power mixed MP damage) and warhammers (physical focus) would be great for clubbers.

How about a club that takes Heavy shells. You know some hopped up ganger would totally do that. Ammo capacity of 1. The first hit would set off the shell. The second hit is just a club hit.

Somehow I had managed to forget about the Thug Cutter.
And, yes, this is a physical only club. :-) With Power of only 4, you have to take an aimed shot, get 2 attacks, and nail the drone both times to finish him, but it does work.
