So as I'm working on alien hunting I'm finding one of the big drawbacks is that it's hard to keep up my level with the game level, since I spend so much time patrolling around dead planets when I could looting and pillaging to get xp. Would it be possible to get a huge xp boost for killing aliens? This would help even things out and be something of a reward for doing something difficult? I'm thinking like 100 xp per alien.

100 xp is too much, but I do think it should be more than currently. Either a set amount (10 XP) or amount based on enemy lv vs your lv (at 400% your lv defeating aliens would give 30 XP, 200% your lv 10 XP, 100% your lv 5XP etc)

#ST-1136 - consider a moderate XP bonus for killing aliens

Thanks for taking this into consideration. I still want to stump for more than 10. 10 xp is nothing considering the time one takes patrolling dead planets to find aliens. At higher levels 10 xp wont even boost a single attribute. So that's my case, knowing that beggars can't be chosers.

The aliens remind me ot "dungeon cleaning" bad luck events in rogue-likes designed to be career enders, and hunting aliens to be a high risk activity with little reward (given vet + artifacts help you 4/5 times and kill you 1/5, the vet merely provides a windfall rater than an income. )
If you add an xp award (which would make alien hunting worthwhile and I add my voice to the chorus asking for it) does this alter the alien's role? Could late game boredom be better served by adding a different focus instead of rebalancing the lifespan limiter?
What about scaling xp award based on your level and/or # of aliens killed while increasing alien level (or chances of alien encounter?) This enables (in theory) alien Hunter be a viable play style without sacrificing their role as dungeon cleaners. Alien hunters would have rapid cash and exp gains once they establish themselves, with short life expectancies. Of course, the 'success' yardstick might shift away from highest level and longest game to longest run of aliens.
I raise the question because right now you have a pretty good rouge like balance. However, I don't know what you envision for the future of the game. Perhaps aliens are to become a more central feature in the game. Perhaps one of those new awards unlocks the Templar / alien Hunter class with greater chances of alien assassination missions and such and so an xp award would be redundant, perhaps I am overthinking things.

Latest version has Alien Killing XP bonus for Elite players.
Extra XP if you've got Templars, Xeno Vets and Rumors in effect.

Hot damn! Time to scrounge for creepy crawlies. Is it static for all types, or do some give more?
