Recently I have been playing a Spy on crazy difficulty. While getting started on two different occasions, I have been accosted by narvidians. Both times it was early I'm the game, I'm the center of the map in a green sector while spying. Fighting narvidians at level 2 can be tedious. The first time I suicides by ramming. At round 800 or so of the fight he had something like 60 engines and 700 crew left. I couldn't run since he was faster. I thought, before ramming the Victuals into the hive to. Certain doom that perhaps the option to disengage around turn 500 would have been nice. My next spy had the same thing happen again in the same spot year 58.something. This time it was a hunter. Easier pickings. However, I swear my captain said he was a touch winded at about the 800th boarding.
Anyway, how about a withdraw or disengage button that appears around turn 500-1500 or whenever is appropriate.?

Yikes. I think the real issue is why are the combats lasting that long. The simulator only generates a combat result with turns > 500 once every 350,000 results -- and you reporting multiple occurring in a single game?
A couple of observations:
#1. Not sure what is up with the combat you are having that lasts 500 turns. Sounds like a defect. I'd love some screenshots.
#2. Alien should be disallowed before Level 5
#3. All Combat should end at round X. I'll get a baseline from the simulator and find a good cut off point.
Too much button mashing is boring.

Aliens and hulks are old hat so no screenshots. However back when I first found the game my very first captain's encounter with narvidians was of a 200 turn count both times. I was level 22? And I have screenshots of that. The epic battle was very satisfying to me. Typically my battles last only a few turns. Sometimes only 2 never more than 50 that I remember. Save when fighting frickin huge alien ships. I think we should discuss this via email so as not to spoil the fun of others in learning how to play. Besides I still have alot to learn and might make a fool of myself
