Hey I've been trying to unlock the Picky Beggar ship which means I have to complete the Rapid Rank I (reach rank 3 in 4 years on challenging) but I just can't seem to get it. What exactly is rank 3??? Is it your "Lvl" next to your title in the status menu or is it through promotions at the Palace? Also what date is 4 years and 36 weeks after you start? I believe the date you start is 57.1 AE so would the cutoff be 41.37 AE?

Somebody please help me with this. I've started 3 or 4 new games trying to get this.

It refers to your rank with a faction. Do missions, buy promotions.

Get 3 Promotions from your Faction, probably your starting Faction. You do this by raising Reputation, and also making sure you have enough cash to pay for the Promotions. I think you need maybe 20 Reputation to get to Rank 3. Just keep checking in the Palace every time your Rep goes up.

The cutoff would be 61.37AE.

Maybe play on easier difficulties than Challenging until you get the hang of how to go up Rank easily?

Thanks all. Yeah I just got it. It wasn't that I couldn't do it, it was just that I wasn't clear on what I had to do.

I find the Military and Bounty Hunter classes to be the easiest(so far) to earn expedited ranks with their factions.

For example, my Military officer would take blockade and headhunter missions, and even just hunt ships from non-allied factions. Merchant and Smuggler ships are the best ones, as you have a good chance of getting Records, Weapons, Electronics, and Artifacts from them. All 4 item types raise your reputation with the faction you have a trade permit with, so it shouldn't be hard to figure out who you sell them to. Besides, Rank 3 is real easy to achieve.

Start as a Javat Explorer and go to the Mining Camp. Buy a Trading Permit and spend all your points in Explorer. Sell your cargo at the exchange and watch your rep skyrocket. Buy ranks and water.
