not sure if this was mentioned before, but would it be possible to make your starting stats customizable? It gets slightly annoying for me when, for example, your gunner starts with low dex and high athletics. I know it doesn't matter in the long run, since I'll most likely be raising those stats in the future anyway, but I would really like to see this happen.

I'm not sure customizable fits very well, but more random would possibly give us both something we could enjoy.
That way *sometimes* the Runners you hire have different stats and skills?
Thoughts?

I think it makes it more interesting if runners are more of a random cross section of humanity.
And while you are tweaking these things -- I don't think that the martial artist should start with 2 points of firearms which she cannot use.

But I am not sure that Phantom Bullet is talking about runners. I think what he is talking about is unhappiniess that Gunslingers start with a Ath of 4, and could be a dex of 1 since your starting skills are fixed, by profession though your starting attributes are a randomised 1, 2, 3 such that the sum of all your attrributes is 11. This means that he and I disagree about what skills are useful for a shooter to have. I want plenty of athletics so that I can position my shots with the target in the pink square. Dexterity is the attribute I care least about with shooters. I was making a guide but the game changed too much before I was done writing it. Plus I got sick. But here is one slide from the guide as an attatchment. I find gunslingers significantly easier to get off the ground than Snipers, purely because of their starting stats. (I equip my ginslingers with rifles, too.). I am happy to get the athletics, and think that 1 point of athletics is more valuable than one point of firearms. This is even more the case the odd time I do decide to play a pistol user, as pistols are less accurate than rifles, and have a shorter range which means you have to do even more running around than if you play your gunslinger as a sniper. For what Phantom Bullet wants all you have to do is to start characters or runners with much fewer (or no) starting attributes or skills, but a larger pool of starting XP. Head to a hotel and allocate as you wish. Could be a neat option for the Custom Play setting. Attachments:

I was talking about starting characters in general, and the Dex/Athletics thing was just a random example, but you more or less hit the nail right in the head, gravling

I will add an item to the plan to incorporate this to Custom Difficulty.
#1265 -- New Custom Difficulty for Starting XP #1266 -- Randomize Runner Starting Stats #1267 -- New Starting Statistics Review

I notice that all professions start with 10 skill points except the CyberSword who starts with 9. Is there a specific reason for this? Just curious.

By the way, elite players now have the ability to have 2x the starting stats and do their own allocation. It is under custom.

Just curious. probably a mistake, possible to offset the better starting armor (which was in the game a long time ago.) Maybe we should balance the Knights back out to 10. Maybe we should balance the Runners to have matched Athletics?

One thing I still can't get over with, is why oh why my Male 2 character (who can only fight with his hands), stated out with 2 points in firearms...
