Not sure how much work it would be, but it would be great if we could see an estimate for a ship's fuel/luxuries consumption rate (assuming full cargo and crew) to be displayed at auction houses and the after-battle screen.
That way people can know whether the ship would fit their play style before buying or capturing it.
At auction you would just lose credits if you didn't like it, but if it was captured, it's irreversible and you might get screwed. This used to really bug me, but now that I've experimented with many ships (i.e. bought then resold waaay more ships that I care to remember), I can pretty much guess from the stats. It might be a very helpful feature for newer players though.
