I earlier reported a bug with the Acknowledge button not working right (you get imprisoned after pressing it in some cases), and a workaround (go to Battle Stations, then you get an Acknowledge in place of the Surrender button, and then you hit Depart and leave with no consequences). I was just having my best game ever. I had gotten the necessary Reputation for Hero of the Stars but not been able to register it yet. I was wanted by two of the Clans, and ran into a cruiser from one of them. I had a full cargo hold and didn't want to mess with it, and so normally I'd hit Battle Stations and then run away, but this time I got the Acknowledge button--except, unlike the last few times, it wasn't a house that I had a small negative Reputation with, but instead one I had a big negative Reputation with. So I hit Battle Stations. I got the Acknowledge button in the combat screen again, so I hit that, and then hit Depart. And then I was f&*king dead! It said I was killed in action. This is the kind of thing that could cause a guy to give an app a negative review. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Cory, is it going to get fixed?

mtknife,
I am very sorry that you are experiencing frustration with the game. I am glad that you took the time to post on the forum where I am able to respond and request additional information.
The earlier reported bug was fixed -- I got enough information from a few different e-mails to figure out the combination that triggered it.
There are several (repeatable) conditions where a Captain with extremely low Health can be killed in a Battle. I am adding the Health to the Combat display.
I have checked and double checked the matrix for acknowledge buttons and have automatic testing for a lot of the reported regressions.
I am not saying that you experienced a different situation or issue -- it is possible that bugs exist (they always will) but I want you to know it isn't a situation where I am thinking "oh yeah I guess I should go check" because I have chased and debugged this code A LOT.

I've never seen "acknowledge" button on battle screen, it's either advance and shoot away (or board), retreat or surrender. And if you surrender to a hostile party, it's quite probable that you will get hurt (1 wound). If your health is 1 - then you die. I've read somewhere that "acknowledge" button is a shortcut to "battle stations->surrender" and "ignore" is a shortcut to "battle stations->retreat". So it seems "ignore" is safer, the worst thing that can happen is a torp in your rear and a loss of reputation, sometimes permits. If you "acknowledge" to a neutral party - nothing bad really happens, however if it's a hostile party - there's a high chance that they will rough you up during interrogation, so take in mind te consequences. I'm sorry for your loss, however I've never seen this game behaviour. I think it's because I never surrender during battle or acknowledge to any clan scum (no offence meant). When I meet them, I always leave mayhem behind, it's my duty as a Cadar military And I've ranks and permits in syndicates, so no problems on this side. I see the world good, bad and not worthy of my attention (as I think all Cadar military should do , so I see only syndicates vs clans conlficts, destroying all clans and ignoring all syndicates.

If the game gives you an Acknowledge button, it automatically means that there are no bad consequences; you never get that option for a hostile party.
