Just a clarification would be nice what is the difference between rank, and lvl? As I have seen the two used interchangeably and it's made me rather confused when for the triple syn or clan it refers to military rank but the RR refers to lvl. So which is it for the reward?

Triple Clan and Triple Syndicate awards are based solely on Reputation.
Rapid Rank awards are based on buying the required ranks in the allowed time. Of course to buy ranks you have to have the reputation to get them...

Sorry my mistake yes the triples are for Rank 8+ in all three of one group or the other. I was thinking of the Clan Hero and Syndicate Hero awards not the triples.

Not a problem but does that mean rapid Rank is based on rank in a faction or by level cause I got it when I was rank 1 lvl3 for the first rapid Rank.

Where the game means reputation it will say 'Rank'
Where the game means experience it will say 'Level'
Where are they interchanged?
I will fix it, even if they are just mixed up in a post or blog or something.

I thought level was that "Master Pilot" stuff on the status page right next to XP that nobody pays any attention to, rank is "Supreme General Titan Principle Blah Blah Blah", and reputation was simply reputation.

Thanks, also I think why I am confused is the description for the rapid Rank rewards is similar to the reputation rewards Triple Syndicate, and Triple Clan. (both say rank on the app for android)

To achieve the two Triples, you need to be rank eight in the military of all three clans and/or syndicates.
For Syn/Clan Hero, you need 151 rep with all three clans and/or syndicates.
More, for any of the four, is optional.

Casivek: Rapid Rank is for Military ranks. The ones you get at the palace. They easiest way to do this is make a DeValtos Explorer on Crazy, do three missions, get a permit, go to the Syndicate Capital, then down to the planet a few AU South-West of it, explore, sell to the Syndicate Capital, rinse, and repeat. You will be done with all three Rapid Ranks in 15 minutes.
Choco: do it that ^ way, and you can finish all four in under an hour.

I take it that is highly dependent on if the game decided to give you a lot of loot, which for me it doesn't. >.<

casivek, As others have mentioned, there are numerous challenges that require either rank or level achievements. Rank is always military rank and is based on reputation with factions (you can't get higher ranks with a faction until you've made them happy with you. Level, on the other hand, is all about doing things that produce XP. XP gets allocated to your skills, and the overall number of skills/attribute points you have equates to the level you are on. For Rapid Rank awards, you have to work hard to get one faction to like you enough to offer high military ranks. 7 years and 36 weeks is effectively 400 turns. 400 turns is NOT long, so focusing on one faction and one faction alone is the way to most consistently achieve this award. There are safe ways to do it, and slightly less safe ways. Safe ways include being an explorer, being a trader of RECORDS and/or restricted goods, etc. Less safe ways is through contracts and acts of aggression (blockades/surveillance). The former means you can do most of the reputation gaining without negative impact to other factions. Less safe means you make enemies that could come back and bite you just before you are ready to achieve the award. One way that I have achieved RR in the past is the trading route. I almost always start out by hunting for the nearest shortage situation, and trading. With luck and within 50 turns, you could be up to $100k+ With that cash, you can all but buy your way into rankhood (buying/selling records, or restricted goods), even at a loss should let you get enough RP with one or more factions to get up to level 9. If you're lucky enough to hit a surplus of records, you're all but guaranteed high rank, because selling records boosts RP up quite quickly, and you don't even need a permit to do so. One important thing to note though is that until you have recorded your achievement in the hall of records, it DOES NOT EXIST. That is, if you achieve Rank 9 in 6 years and 38 weeks, then muck around for another 2 years before going to record your achievement, you won't get RRIII because the game will see you are Rank 9 at 8 years+. So - for any time based challenge, record the achievement as quickly as possible! This also goes for the hardcore awards, and the contract awards. If you get to level 20 with your first ship, then on the way to the nearest palace, you come across the most perfect Jango class ship - you have to let it go. Taking it means that when you get to the hall of records, your ship count = 2, so you won't get the award! To achieve the two Triples, you need to be rank eight in the military of all three clans and/or syndicates. For Syn/Clan Hero, you need 151 rep with all three clans and/or syndicates. More, for any of the four, is optional. Probably the hardest and most time consuming awards I've unlocked... all four... on the same captain with a single run. I've foolishly set out on the challenge of achieving (with one pilot) Blackheart (Achieved) Dark Nemesis (Achieved) Independent Captain (Achieved) Hero of the Stars (Achieved) Big Tent (Not achieved yet) Triple Syn (Achieved) Syndicate Hero (Achieved) Triple Clan (Not achieved yet) Clan Hero (Not Achieved yet) I can confirm that it is really hard trying to get everyone to uniformly love you again after almost a century of indiscriminate destruction. I've only got Steel Song (-41) and Thulun (-874) to go though.
