Unlocks for Officer Availability

I'd like to see new unlocks that place particular officers at particular clans/syns...

Like for 1500 reputation (or w/e number), you unlock officer availability, which places that officer statically on each planet akin to the Ships of Honor/Pride:]

DeV Spy or Mech not sure
Cadar Pilot
Rychart Political
Thulun Scout
Javat Trade
Steel Song Military

Or something like that. Not sure about spy/mech, and I don't think Alien Hunter needs a specific faction, but he could be tied in to the alien unlocks maybe!

Also, in general, I love unlocks and would love to see more. Unlocks give a reason for players like me who don't really care for sandboxes usually a good reason to keep playing.

Also, unlocks in CK would be great too (Wrong forum i know)!

Welcome thatdumbguy, nice name by the way haha. I agree with you that more unlocks would be a nice thing, Cory Trese recently added some new ones for alien hunting and there might be more in the pipe.

I am no expert about ST at all, but as far as I know the different officers are likely to pop up with certain rumors so I guess it might be possible to boost the chances of those rumors happening? I don't know exactly how to flesh out the idea but I'm sure that others can toss in their two cents.

I was thinking something like the ships of pride/honor option in which they will always be on planets controlled by the factions in question. This might have to be a crazy/insane achievement...

Basically akin to the bonus XP achieve, it might allow us to start a new game and more quickly get into the setup we are looking to play with.

However, I believe your idea has merit as well, boosting the rumor chance would be nice. It would probably be more balanced for a lower difficulty.

Or, and I'm not totally sure this could be possible, but why not allow the unlock give players an option to select a certain officer to start with? That way, and if we follow your chart, we could get the unlock for the Cadar and have an option for starting our games from then on with the Pilot instead of our first mate? That could be interesting.

Of course, this all depends on the ability for selecting new officers which might not be possible at all.

For the achievemnt themselves, i think a 'get 1500 rep' is just a grind.. A better one would probably be 'get 150 rep really soon' etc
