Cory Trese, the only reason why I suggested that campaign bonuses be based on the number of levels is because some campaigns are waaaaaaaay longer than others, so should get more bonus just to encourage perseverance . I think if you extrapolate the curve to level 6-10 it gets even better. No?

if this was the campaign: level 1 | 0 xp | 10 honor level 2 | 0 xp | 100 honor level 3 | 1 xp | 100 honor level 4 | 1 xp | 800 honor level 5 | 5 xp | 900 honor it would be the same as level 1 | 1 xp | 300 honor level 2 | 1 xp | 300 honor level 3 | 1 xp | 400 honor level 4 | 2 xp | 500 honor level 5 | 2 xp | 400 honor In the first one, there is an incentive to play to level 5. that is a proposed future. the second one is roughly how it is today. no incentive to play to level 5 *in XP and $* I like the first idea with one small reservation, I think there should be a little bit less of a curve on honor. As it is now a squad just getting off the ground would be unable to get any kind of wargear at all until 4 levels into a campaign. This could cause some kind of problem for the more difficult campaigns. Maybe instead of the proposed curve have it be something along the lines of.... level 1 | 0 xp | 100 honor level 2 | 1 xp | 200 honor level 3 | 1 xp | 300 honor level 4 | 2 xp | 400 honor level 5 | 2 xp | 500 honor Completion bonus to be added onto the final mission's reward Completion bonus could be decided by anything, either a set 100 * number of levels or something that Cory Trese cooks up. The XP could be a simple (mission #) / 2 rounded down with an extra lump thrown in at the end of the campaign (again either a simple formula or something assigned by Cory Trese).

I try to avoid 'me too!' posts, but I really like Cory's idea/curve. It does what we ask for, I'm guessing it's some numbers in a table that could easily be changed the next time it's worth a release, and I think actively penalizing players for playing the levels of their choice is a bad idea in general.

Oh ... wait I understand now I was thinking that campaigns had "difficulty" levels associated with it. Early campaigns are "easy" and therefore level 1. Narv Dawn is downright murderous, and therefore level 5. others fall inbetween. But I get you ... each level is a level within a campaign You need to give bonuses for the difficulty of the campaign then otherwise again, people would farm the easy stuff and ignore the hard stuff (except Narv Dawn with it's 17 levels of juicy goodness!!!

Cool, glad we got on the same page. I agree that the base reward that is being curved would be set based on difficulty. I get you ... you get me. We're a happy Templar family.

It would be awesome if this was added to the game before the challenge officially kicks off ... <very hopeful grin>

The next release will include the Honor balancing discussed in this thread. XP is pending #TA-1787

My squad is pacing back and forth waiting for the mod. Actually that's not true, I've decided to take my challenge squad and get them to complete every single campaign from top to bottom, so they're occupied and entertained

Oh oh ... question/request. I hope that the XP is distributed among the squad members and NOT JUST the captain. That was one of the niggles I found with Narv Dawn because one of my scouts found a +1 XP bonus, but my captain took it. I felt that was rude and unfair of him What would be spectacular would be that you get a pool of XP after each mission, and you can choose where you want to distribute it, even if it means you pump all 4 accrued XP into one squad member.

slayernz - interesting idea on the XP distribution! Adding ticket #AOP-1788 Could be spread among the squad, given to the Templar who found it, randomized, or handed to player to choose. Either way, it shouldn't go all to the captain who already wins in XP anyway!

Like Any of the options listed. Makes squad play much more interesting. I think it would be hilarious for slayernz to start a new squad and find his lame duck soldier getting all of the bonus xp.
