The description of Solar War says that reputation bonus can be gained for
Contract and Combat actions I can understand. How is it possible to do a Trade action against a Faction? Maybe by violating a Trade Embargo that the Faction has imposed against another Faction? More details please!

Factions seem to get upset if you attack a ship from another faction in their sector of space--maybe that's what it's talking about?

I suppose it is an edge case but you ...
Find two Factions at Solar War. Find a Faction owned planet under an embargo. Sell Resources to that Embargo Planet
