Yeah, Major Problem got promoted from Captain just before the tutorial. His first squad included Private Parts, Corporal Punishment, Private Eye, and Private Moment. Later, after the competition was over, he hired two additional Neptune specialists, Splatter and Crusty (twins). They were actually mercs, so chose to forgo the ranks. They were picked because of their passionate hate for Xeno's. As such, Major Problem simply gave them the largest, loudest weapon he could buy, and said "Go nuts".

For TA, some (but not all) of my squads get backstories - it makes me treat them in slightly different ways. It allows me to have more aggressive squad members, and also helps me nurture some of the newbies to battle-readiness more compassionately  . For example, Pyro, my slightly-retarded Hydra operator has a slight fear of the dark, and tends to burn corridors even when entirely empty just so that they don't have any dark spots. He had regular chaperones who actually killed the Xenos that he blindly missed. |

Haha that's an interesting idea. I usually try to set up themes for my squads. The themes usually set my play style for that particular squad. My current go-to squad is a melee focused squad and that is the main reason for my suicidal play style. Suffered more than 10 losses, but they keep on trucking!
