Age of Pirates RPG contains a major re-write of the Star Traders RPG trade simulator that enables a huge number of new features. One of the features that has me really excited is adding city, beach and economy state to the individual saved game. Each Captain has have a unique copy of the entire world -- in upcoming releases the Captain will have more direct ways to influence it. Consider the option to... - Bombard a town from the sea and reduce the market, tavern or castle to ruble - Have the Market renamed in your honor after ending a shortage - Take over a town and establish the Captain as the Governor - Lead Naval attacks and change the controlling Empire of towns and forts - And, as always, @tresebrothers is taking ideas

Absolutely awesome! I know this is probably something that you guys have considered and either already included or struck off the list as impossible but....
Will it be possible for the player to sack towns? As in, raze/alter their allegiance/etc? If possible it could be really, really good for replayability (more than the already huge replayability that is) because a player could set off to conquer the world for his/her faction.

Could we maybe take a shot a building fleets of ships? That way you could have your fast moving sloop to battle merchant ships, war gallons to battle towns from sea, merchant vessels to carry goods, and carry an overall larger number of sailors to address land battles with villages.

Could we also help factions in nonviolent ways for non combative character classes? Like, if a Cadari pirate bombards a Ruseland exchange. A merchant could gain Rep by hauling timbers or donating silver.

Could an especially weathly merchant buy a town by bribing the faction that owns it? Also, will there be ways to upgrade and modify a town that you own? Can you reduce a town to rubble, claim it as your own, and then reshape it in your glorious image?! Muahahahaha! Will there be a population that changes based on how your rule your town and the availability of resources? Will you be able to tax the town for a steady income of silver? Claim a percentage of whatever it produces? Etc. All question as well as suggestions

@umbra - we now have the art that is required for the feature set. It is definitely still on our list, though things keep hopping in front of it in the priority line (pinch zoom, bugs). With just two of us, we can't do ETAs, but yes, its still something we are working on. With a new game coming out, a lot of our attention is directed to Heroes of Steel. After that settles, we will return to a more natural state here!
