Rumors not showing proper faction

When I look at the rumor screen all of the rumors will have the same flag next to them, which ( I think) is the flag of the faction whose territory I am currently in. This is pretty confusing because I start thinking "ah there's a great shortage in a friendly port," only to find out later, I'm a hauling a bunch of restricted cargo to a port whose faction hates me.

I've also noticed that beach rumors are pretty much always listed as 0 days away by sailing. Anyone else notice this?
