Kraken spawn rate?

Not exactly sure, but I seem to remember that the Kraken was supposed to be a deep-sea monster and attracted to gold. I'v ehad my last two Nathaniel characters be killed by the Kraken in shallow water while holding no gold whatsoever. Not sure if it should really be considered a bug or not, just curious if other people have been noticing the Kraken early on in their games. Both games I was under level 10 and trying to stay safe. Granted my difficulty level was Insane, but I don't remember hitting aliens anywhere near this much in ST.

Ah ... another issue with turn rate. Fixable, let me look at it.

Well, it could definitely be that I'm just unlucky and rolling at a high difficulty. Don't be afraid to tell me it's all in my head if you don't find anything wrong.
