Sail damage while in Port

Just got a toast popup for "Sailing accident has damaged sails" while turning in a delivery commission at the Tavern in Cnork, East Acadas.
Popup showed up upon showing up back in Port, right after clicking Victory.
Unfortunately I didn't know what my original Sails rating was before, so I don't know if my ship really sustained damage or not.

I am a criminal with this faction and they've closed the port to me... maybe it was "an accident"?

Once the toasts go away it will be less of an issue and maybe at some point I'll find a way to make it fixable.

You're staying in port on the screen but as far as the game engine is concerned, you are going to your Ship to finish the Contract.

Ah, that explains it.
Can you make the ship immune to damage under that circumstance? Since your ship isn't really moving anywhere. (unless there is a storm or something)
