... but I really want to rename my ship and can't find the option anywhere anymore (I did rename a ship some versions ago).
Can anybody tell me where it is now and if I need to be in a specific port or something?

Can anybody tell me where it is now and if I need to be in a specific port or something? You can do it in lots of ports, but not all. I am not sure that the 'not all' isn't a bug. |

I just noticed that my new ship is flying a different flag than the last one. I guess that even though I'm an officer for Ruesland, I can't put that flag on my ship without registering it somewhere?
Maybe I have to visit a port of that nation, but I doubt they'll let me in :-(

Rename is only available at a Dock/Port that is the same flag as your ship.

That's kinda weird.
If I capture a ship from the enemy, I have to sail to one of *their* ports to get permission to rename the ship I just took from them?
With a letter of Marque or enough ranks in a nation's navy you should be able to change the flag and name of any ship you captured.

I think that will be changed eventually when they put in the system for prize ships.
At the moment, I'm not sure the system can tell if you acquired the ship legally or not.
