I accidentally posted this elsewhere, reposting it int he correct subforum:
I checked how much shot and powder I had before a fight. 90. I fired two chain shots with 15 cannons. Checked again via the victory cargo transfer screen. I had 88, then enemy ship had 0. pressed Take all. Checked again via the ship status menu. I have 90 shot again for some reason.
Second event. I have 90 shot and powder before battle. Fire two shots. Check via cargo transfer screen. I have 88, enemy has 12. I hit take all. Not enough space for shot and powder. Check cargo transfer again to see how much I got. I have 90 shot and powder, enemy STILL has 12!
Third event. Check before battle. 102 S&P. fire two shots. Cargo transfer shows enemy with 0, me with 100. Check cargo transfer again. Back to 102 S&P!
Fourth event. Check before battle. 102. Fire 8 broadsides. cargo transfer shows 94 enemy has 0. press back to victory screen. Check cargo transfer again shows 102 S&P!

Interesting report -- this is also pretty much how I play at all times.
Each turn I go in and check every menu for changes. Actually, wrote a program to help me do this.
Early in the closed beta there was a tester who's phone did this consistently due to a bug in the OS.
What device are you using?

And yeah, once I noticed that I seemed to be gaining shot and powder when I thought I shouldn't have I started recording amounts between every little thing to give a detailed report.
I also just fired around 10 or so shots at a ship, then burned it without taking anything or even checking the cargo screen and it still reset it back to the origional amount I had.
Keep in mind I haven't noticed this behavior before. Before I had a tendency to run out of shot and powder very frequently. It's just recently that I noticed this for the first time.
