I went to a town (well, a Naval Fort) where there was a silk surplus. There were 5 units there to buy.
Bug, or working as intended?

Possible that it was an older rumor, and by the time you got there, they had already sold most of the stock?

At least I know there is Silk available in the game now, thanks to you grävling. I have 2 rumours for Silk scarcity, but haven't found any silk to buy, since starting this game. Knowing me, I probably missed it. I was about to ask fallen, when they intend to put Silk into the game. Lol.

Talk about BLIND. I've just noticed how old the OP is! Hahahaha. Question remains then. Is my lack of Silk, just a run of bad "dice"? Everyone seems to have 0 to buy. (Story Mode).

It's a pretty rare good to find in ports. It's definitely in there as I've pirated tons of it Not sure about where to buy it. Try national trading hubs or wealthy population centers.

Thanks ncaoa. At least now I know it exists. Bit of a restriction on those who decide to play as a peaceful trader, (not bad), if it's more available by piracy, (he who dares...). Maybe I should check Pirate Hubs, since you've sold so much booty to them, from your questionable maritime exploits. Arrrr. Avast.

Cg Glad to help. The rarity makes me wonder if it's not a native good to the first sea. Those ports buy it, but they don't seem to have much to sell. I wonder if Laanbaker has a Silk Road equivalent?

I've never found it in ports (except in tiny amounts when there is a surplus). I think it is a good for one of the areas not developed yet. But when exploring, I have harvested a ton of it certain places.

But when exploring, I have harvested a ton of it certain places. I went to a Pirate Trading Hub, and they were absolutely LOADED with the stuff, I can't remember the exact amount, but I know it was way more, than my cargo hold, (62), could carry. So it IS possible to find loads of silk.

Hope there was a good place to bury treasure nearby ... OH WOW! You know grävling, I just realised, I have NEVER used a "treasure Site", in either Star Traders or Age of Pirates. Thanks for reminding me. I'll try to use them in future.

Well worth using if a good site isn't too far away from friendly ports. Last thing you need is to be carrying lovely (and expensive) goods where people are looking to rob idiots. Like wearing Rolexes and fur coats down Skid Row...
