I will say that whatever the Alien Hunter is she/he looks downright grumpy. And while I might warm myself up with himmer in case of imminent loss of life-support I'd far rather get warm with even the Political Officer since she seems less likely to carry pointy or sharp things I could accidentally hurt myself on when I rolled over in my sleep.
(and the mechanic and spy both push my buttons, so they're both on the "Ahrmphhh, hrmmpphhh, hrmphhhhhh", list.)

I'm not sure where to possible bugs, but as it has to do with the most recent release, I'll put it here. ever since updating, multiple instances of the game launch while I'm playing. From this point on, only one action will be recognized. This can be used to exploit by selling, for example, 20 artifacts, then sell 1 of anything else, upon returning to the exchange you have 20 artifacts again, but you keep the money from the trade. Repeat to be a millionaire quickly.
The down side, is you will try to fix your ship, but the repairs don't take.
Also the mutiny dialog will get stuck in an endless loop, the captain losing health slowly until death out whatever.
I tried deleting and reinstalling, but it still happens. Both free versions confirmed. I have a Droid X Hdmi

That sounds like a problem with your ROM perhaps launching the application under incorrect compartments. Of course, the Android OS controls all of this and ST RPG (an application with no permissions) cannot run (or stop from being run) in whatever manner the OS decides.
What OS do you have on this Droid?

I've been playing challenging and demanding. Got to 176+ with cadar and no sign of them.

Check your rumors for locations where aliens have been spotted. Go there and patrol. Be ready to start a new captain soon afterwards.
The aliens don't care about your rep with Cadar or about any human politics. They just want to lay their eggs in your trachea...or at least that's what my military officer told me.
