Hello all,
Wondering if we can have a tweak to the roster that enables us to RESET a Captain ? Especially for us nubs, being able to reset, rather than delete and recreate, would be a BIG plus.
Also, dead captains showing up in the roster is also a plus, where again, a RESET, is also a plus.
Thoughts?

There is the danger of "accidentally" resetting a Captain. The risk here may be greater than the reward.
Perhaps a better solution is for the New Captain screen to remember and replicate the settings for the last-created Captain?

flazer ... if you are meaning that copying the class, starting ship, name, and faction of a captain for a new iteration of him/her, that is a great idea and would mean you can get going to try your playing style out without the hassle of recreation. If on the other hand, you want the reset to reanimate his or her dead corpse, with assets, crew and environment intact, then unfortunately that will not be possible due to the permadeath principle.

Yes spot on a reset, not a resurrect - want to avoid the hassle of recreation for dead cap'n AND a reset for living cap'n if u find yourself in a situation where you're in a tight spot, far from anywhere, out of resources, etc. Of course i think the game keeps track of deaths so i would suggest for a living cap'n reset, perhaps it counts as a suicide!

Hopefully an "are you sure" followed by an "are you really really sure" might suffice. Regards the clone option, at least for me anyway, part of the reset is to reuse the cap'n name. I'd like for example one cap'n who focuses in particular on smuggling, etc. Perhaps however, if cloning makes more sense, a suffix convention? flAzer the 3rd ? (lol - at my rate it'd be more like flAzer the 53rd!)

Regards the clone option, at least for me anyway, part of the reset is to reuse the cap'n name. You can already do that actually. Just go to Options and set a Default Captain Name.
