Am I just impatient?

Hi,

First off, I really like this game and the tutorial. Since english is not my first language please apologize errors or misunderstandings.

I started the tutorial four times until I now feel I can manage and survive the NBZ. But I think my progress slowed down comparing to the time in the tunnels or am I just impatient? I haven't got any "rewards" from the Fennians yet. Can you please give me some advice?

I'm playing a Gunslinger (Easy) with this stats:

Heat high in Los Val and medium in Streets territories

I'm thinking about
- raising Negotiation to gain more money
- buying the Strumwhelger M2 because of its stats, but I like to avoid killing people to avoid getting more heat
- buying better armor
- (buying another Implant)

How do you spend time without spending money? Can you stay somewhere (except from safe houses) without paying to make time go by? Am I resting to much in a hotel? Should one only rest when one's tired or exhausted? But if there are no convenient jobs available, what can I do to pass the time (for example 2 or more days)?

I'm trying to avoid runs to Blue Ox and Corp area unless they are well paid and can be done with a taxi ride. I avoid combat oriented jobs in Los Val territory to not gain more heat.

Should a Gunslinger raise Electronics/Hacking at least to 1 to be flexible?

Buy the Strumwhelger.
Buy the Mk251 bounty from Back Bay Importers (Old Kenmore) if you are playing elite.
Stick 3 points into brawling and buy the Yakashima Taser Glove from Back Bay Importers regardless.

To spend time -- this will cost money -- go to any VIP lounge and drink, listen for rumours, drink until the place is full.
Unless you are in a zone that has a heat wave on, you will get rid of your heat this way. Or at least greatly reduce it.

Gunslingers need to get to the point where they love killing people. If you are worried about heat, well, buy stun weapons, stunning
people causes less heat. Stun gloves, of course are best at this, but if you wanted to be a cybersword, then you would have picked that class.

You can always get a convenient job from the Yakuza Gambling Den in Copley Square. Doesn't often pay much, but you can always do it.

If you are playing a sandbox char, yoqu need to work Cava Saints' ladder enough to get King's chip. He will drive into and out of heat. So use him to get out, natch. If you are playing Made not Born into the NBZ, alas you joi Cavas ladder after he gives out this reward. It's a
rather patient climb to the next one. But nothing is a good as King's chip -- it is the best reward in the game.

Thanks for your reply. But how do I make enough profit to buy this or better weapons than mine and other stuff? The price is 12k! I feel that with my current strategy it'll take a very long time because I have to spend a lot of money for resting, healing, listening, stims and ammo.

If you train negotiation more, you will find the price goes down, a lot.

But the best money is made hacking, these days.
