Ship Building

I want to customize a ship.  I know there are upgrades, but I would just appreciate the option to make one to my needs.

Okay, argue that it would negate the need to purchase any new ships.  

Well I counter by making it a pricey endeavor.  Perhaps say, you need a mechanic to build your own ship and oodles of cash.  Say then that the mechanic gets immediately hired by some big corporation afterwards forcing you to find a new one.

This function seems unlike anything else in the game, and therefore unattainable, but I figured it an item worth putting on the wishlist.

Hi Taldin,
Unfortunately custom ship-building is not an option in the game due to limitations of the game engine itself. I agree that it would be awesome as a feature, and it has been earmarked for a possible future game (Star Traders 2).
