A save feature would be nice. You could implement it as an item you can buy in the Exchange. I know it possibly goes against the feature of dying in the game on difficulties higher than normal. I ask this because on several occasions I have forgot to refuel or repair or hit the wrong button in combat and wound up dying.

juicy - sorry, its not something that the existing saved game format can support (it's "saved constantly") and that is built, cemented, welded, and planned into the whole game design. With a game already 3 years old, there's nothing we can do to change it! Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting!

What about like in Age of Pirates where you have the option to turn perma death off?

juicy - sorry, the games are built on a very similar engine. None of our games support a "save now" feature at this point. All play is permanent.

juicy, I would add that, IMHO, not being able to save is actually great! It might be one thing that has kept me playing TB games over and over again. Somehow being forced to live with the results of every decision and mistake actually make the games more fun. After awhile starting over gets a lot better too. At first it's rough to lose those cherished captains who've made it through by the skin of their teeth, but later you might even find that you purposely send them off to desolate worlds to be killed by aliens just so that you can get going on that new captain with a new strategy.
