One thing I've come across from time to time is getting stuck with the same jobs from the same connectors.
Yes, you can 'decline' a job. But if you go back to him fairly quick (always?) it is often just the exact same job/mission that I don't really want to do yet, for whatever the reason.
As mentioned elsewhere, especially for back/VIP-rooms, if everyone wants to come talk to a CK, then I would hope declining one mission would let you work through a list overall of possible ones with any given connector. At least so far it doesn't seem that way.

Alex Fury : in fact jobs change only with time. If you spend some time in VIP room, job will eventually change. My advice would be to take another or job (or two ) from another connector and get back from time to time to see what has changed.

Alex Fury - a better job system re-design is high on our list. Design documents have been penned. We hope to get there sometime. Competing priorities, you see

For maximum fun, I would like to select the jobs I want to do from a list. It would be ok if the connector sold jobs to higher ranked knights -- or at least those with bigger computers in bundles -- If you want that nice lucrative job delivering to Mars, you also have to take this message to Camden Square, because I need to get rid of it -- but the sense of controlling your own destiny grows when you can pick your own jobs out of a list.

Perhaps a list to choose from once you hit a certain Rep level? 50-75 perhaps. Or a balance of Total XP Earned + Rep might be better? ie: fresh CK to the area, no one really trusts him as he has no rep PERIOD. Unknown quantity. So even if he does well with Los V, not like Mars will give him the pick of the litter of jobs off the bat once he 'graduates' up from the South end. Even Los V or KH won't. but by the time he's rep 50 or so with Los V, s/he should be able to walk in going 'I want this type' for them. Of course, going to Mars or Yakashima when experienced, no name for them, so until s/he makes a name for themselves at a corp, then maybe they can start picking. Or perhaps a list when a VIP room one. But if so, need to make it harder to get in. Not just 3-5 rep allowing you in a VIP room

Alex Fury - a big goal of the job system re-write is to be both XP and Reputation aware and to drive a clear progression of job type, job danger (location you are being sent) and job payment based on these. Of course, all Connectors will have their base prices, Corporate Connectors just pay better, but you are also in Corporate territory generally, so your risk is already higher. Once we have dynamic heaps of jobs that can be exhausted and refreshed, the display of them as a list will be possible as well. Will look at it.

Why not having some connector only showing in backroom if you have certain rep ? Or ladder giving you the choice (to get back at at what grävling said) between their usual jobs and harder ones ?
