Ohhhh, weapon and armor progression systems, huh? That sounds fun! Looks like I'm going to need to find some time for gaming.

Does this mean new weapons - or just existing weapons not available until certain levels of prestige?

Currently it is the existing gear re-sorted and locked up under Prestige locks. We'd love feedback from our veterans!

I'll look around in there when I get a chance. Are there any plans to rebalance some of the weapons to fit the tiers a little better? As it is now there are some weapons that are just no-brainer choices (Plasma Rifle) that anyone would take and outperform everything but the higher tier weapons.

Would you like to see the spreadsheet of weapons?

Sure, that would be cool. I'm far from the most knowledgable person on the forums, but we all could collaborate on it. I'm sure it'd start up a discussion at least Of course, you and fallen wouldn't have to listen to anything we say, but it might be a fun exercise.

Thanks for the table ... am reviewing, but right off the cuff, the Plasma Rifle is still going to be the "go to" ranged weapon and the Storm Fist is the go-to Melee weapon. Both are amazingly good for the honor and prestige limits, and can often be used instead of the Long Devastator and Force Gauntlet respectively. BTW ... I love the improvements you've made to at least one of the maps ... It's awesome!

Yeah, my thoughts on first glance.
-Plasma Rifle is still going to be the no-brainer. It's limit is low, so it can be unlocked fairly easily, and it's honor cost is relatively low. It could do with a little more of a balance tweak. As it is, the weapon is too good, at least in my opinion. In TA you mostly want to secure hits above all else, that means pumping your AR and not worrying so much about damage. The Plasma Rifle has an AR of 6 for an honor cost of 500, that AR is not matched until the Devastator Guns up at 2.7/2.9k. I realize the utility of having an accurate weapon down lower on the charts, but maybe consider dropping it's range or ammo count? If the Plasma Rifle only had a range of 3 or if it only carried 12 or 14 (instead of 18) ammo players would be more willing to drop it for a repeater or cannon of some sort.
-Storm Fist is a little cheaper than I think it should be. As it is, the price for gauntlet weapons goes 400 -> 600 -> 900 -> 3k. There is little reason to go for the 3k option until you are so rich it doesn't matter, but 900 for a really good melee option is too cheap. Maybe consider bumping it to 1.xK? Making it (and other) gauntlets a little more expensive might give incentive to pick and choose? Maybe have the progression go 400 -> 700 -> 1.3 -> 2.5?
-Basically all of the gauntlets are (Melee damage) - 1 = (Attack skill) . Why not switch some of them up a bit? Make a powerful but inaccurate gauntlet, or a very accurate rabbit puncher? Giving a couple more options is always a cool thing.
I'll look at the charts more later, but those are just my first impressions.

johndramey and slayernz - great feedback, thanks for sharing. Expect these ideas to be filtering into the next release! More feedback would be welcome, we are looking at this as a good opportunity to re-balance weaponry.

Sure, that could be fun. Would it be ok if I made another thread in the Wish List forum where we can post those ideas? I can organize it kind of like my Wargear thread and we could use it to discuss ideas for balancing/differentiating weapons.

johndramey - sure! What we are working on for the next release is modifications to the existing weapons, or additional weapons within the existing parameters (i.e. not grenades).

No problem, figured as such. I'd keep my wargear thread for all the pie-in-the-sky things, the new thread would be basically for talking about balance ideas/slight modifications to existing items. For example, maybe emphasizing the differences between shorter range and longer ranged weapons. Maybe talking about increasing/decreasing stats such as damage, ammo counts, etc. Not including anything new, just tweaking stats and numbers.
Of course, all of it is just discussion. You guys wouldn't need to take anything we said at face value.
