When starting my first game. I noticed if I pressed and held on my screen. Then moving up, and down, would zoom in and out. Really great for seeing character, and small area details. Zooming out terrific for seeing how much ground you coverd.
The problem occurred when I zoomed back to a comfortable viewing distance I could no longer move any of the characters in my party.
If I returned to the Menu, and hit continue. I could move my characters again but could not zoom any longer

@johnrobison - very interesting issue, we will try to reproduce here. Do you believe that the "pressed and held on my screen" is the cause of the problem? I can pinch zoom in and out and move my characters repetitively back and forth for a long time (did so for about 2 hours playing the Alpha dungeon last night). Is there something you think you're doing extra that is causing the bug? If you pinch lightly can you keep moving your characters?

If I returned to the Menu, and hit continue. I could move my characters again but could not zoom any longer I had this problem too. Press and hold or multiple taps to the character seemed to cause it. I'll try to remember to turn on Catlog tonight before I start & maybe that will give you some clues.

Ok, thanks everyone! Please anyone else able to reproduce or describe how you are touching the screen to cause this issue -- provide details so we can resolve!

captain nemoThanks for the confirm. I thought I was just going blind because I could not reproduce the problem (yet) Ok my curiosity is running hog wild. What is "Catlog", how do you use it? fallenPinch zoom works great. Got to make sure my fingers are not on a character when I do it or the character will move to that location.

Noticed this morning, the screen on the Kindle is very sensative and can sometimes
mistake a press for a swish and zoom.
Happened when I was using the Web browser today.
There is a icon on the tool bar to zoom in our out. And pinch zoom works. Why they
include a zoom with you finger? I think of it as a quick magnifying glass that zooms
to a preset distance.
So I no longer believe this has anything to do with a bug in the game running on the Kindle,
and have not be able to reproduce the problem

Haven't been able to reproduce this bug on my Samsung IV, but I DID get it when I started the dungeon. I just didn't know it was a bug, at the time.

Haven't been able to reproduce this bug on my Samsung IV, but I DID get it when I started the dungeon. I just didn't know it was a bug, at the time. During some parts of the game, such as presentation of information and dialogs on the map, some of the touch controls may change function to ensure correct input mapping. For example, the game will ignore some scroll and zoom inputs while it is zooming and panning the map automatically. If a bug does exist in the touch handling here, we will find it and fix it!

V 1.0.7 Happened 3 times in a row during one battle. I am still convinced that it is caused by a built in feature on my Kindle, called the magnifying glass. It does a preset zoom in, zoom out if I tap the screen a certain way. I use the icon but know for sure it takes a special tap to do it too. By exiting HOS to the Menu and hitting continue, game reloads to where I left off in the battle, without further problems until I do whatever the heck I'm doing. So far I'm keeping an open mind, but not leaning toward HOS as the source of the problem, speaking on behalf of the Kindle Hd device only. The operating system holds all the cards not the programs that run on it, right?

Me too. Same as John Robinson. HTC Desire X 4.0 Admitedly only twice, once in battle and once at the blacksmith. Seems that it confuses my scrolling screen with a zoom tap.

Lesleyr - do you mind describing what you were doing when it happened? Or what the end result was? It's really helpful for us to hear the bug report in multiple "voices" so we can maybe pick up something that will help us track it down.

fallenThe battle: My party was widely scattered. The wizard was about to cast Purefire shield and it was showing in the box on the right with the cancel button below it. I scrolled up and touched the Outlander. Nothing happened. None of my party would respond. It was like the game had frozen except the characters' animation (small sword movements etc) could still be seen. I tried scrolling and the screen started zooming in and out. The solution was as per John Robinson's post. The blacksmith: The entire party was grouped at the blacksmith going in and out the shop repeatedly trying on weapons. The lead character varied. As computers/cellphones don't just misbehave on their own (not as far as I know)I presume I must have pushed something that I am overlooking. I suspect, although I wouldn't bet my week's pay, that it might have been the banner towards the bottom ie scroll down, not the gypsy one, the next one up. Then, with the wizard in the lead, attempts to click on the doorway failed as the game froze (except small movements) I did not try to scroll. As this incident happened first, I didn't think to try scrolling. The solution as above. Edited: The problem has occurred twice more since. In both cases I was in battle mode with the turn timer. I scrolled upwards, using unexplored (blacked out) areas of my screen to move. The first time it started to zoom in and out without restoring to original size while the second it did that "freeze" zoom mentioned above. I hope that helps.

I have made a code change that should reduce, maybe fix this. Running out of ways to improve the touch handler, hopefully this last fix is the piece that was missing!
