We have teased the Chaplain's arrival many times, and are now closing in on adding him. One question to our veteran Knights -- what do you think a fair Prestige requirement and an Honor cost is for adding a Knight to your squad who has healing powers like a Chaplain Captain?
I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'd like to see it high!

Hmmm, I'll need to go play around in TA a bit but I think something in the upper-mid range of the current prestige scale. Having him unlocked too early can make the game a tad bit easy as well as negating one of your possible captain choices.

I don't have any specific amount to recommend, but I'd see the most use for him when the squad is ready to take on the harder campaigns. I guess that makes it 4-6 campaigns worth of prestige.
That should also be enough to teach players how to not get hit. If you give them the chaplain too early, it'll become a crutch and when they hit the hard campaigns they'll say "my chaplain is useless now, he doesn't have enough heals for this!"

5 campaigns + some training up of squaddies should get you to around 350 honor. If you can get there, then you've shown you know which way to point the bang sticks and how not to end up as Xeno lunch.

Cyrus and slayernz are right, 300-400 prestige would be a good range for him to unlock at. Enough that the players learn how to play the game, but not so much as to lock him out and make him obsolete. How much honor should be be? I really think he should be quite pricey, maybe more than the other support classes. He does, after all, heal troopers. That makes him very, very useful during some of the longer campaigns. Maybe in the 3,000 range?

Yeah, 2500 to 3000 Honor would not be a bad thing. To make it really tricky, you could limit the Chaplain to only range 3 weapons or less. That would make him definitely function as a support role rather than be dealing death AND healing everyone at the same time

Thanks for the Prestige / Honor suggestions, they are right where I'd like to see him!

Reading through the forum again, it is a bit of a shame that the non-captain version of the Chaplain never made it into this game. I know that it got in Templar Battleforce with the Paladin, but that game just doesn't click for me the same way that Templar Assault does.
Because right now, if you want to play Crazy or Brutal, you basically have to take the Chaplain captain, since that is the only source of healing in the game. Having a recruitable Chaplain, even if it heals less than the captain to still make the captain feel unique, would offer another option to save characters from dying at 1 health. And just like Scouts and the Exo Scout captain, the non-captain chaplain could have shared some unique gear with the captain variant, to make the captain variant have more options.
Although on the other hand, with the way that it ended up, the Templar Chaplain captain feels a lot more unique, as it is the only source of healing in the game, making it a very strong captain choice.

Holy thread necro Batman! Welcome back battlelord. Hop on over to the discord if you haven't been there yet. That's mainly where everyone hangs out now. Just a few other members and a couple of digisheep clones watch out for post here now a days.

Oh, I'm already in discord too since that is where most of the activity is these days. However, when I'm in the mood to read about Templar Assault, which is surprisingly still one of my favorites despite its age, the forum is the only place for me to go. Because the discord doesn't even have a Templar Assault section. (mostly because there is very little people still playing this game)
Besides, the forum still has a lot of interesting history and knowledge hidden within, which can be fun to explore and discover. So sometimes when digging through these abandoned ruins, I find gems like this where it is mentioned that an entirely extra class was originally planned for this game.
