That would be nice to be able to build our own fireplace on cave we have cleaned. That could be less effective than the ones already there (maybe you could only rest and not level up or get only partial HP/SP). What do you think ?

fallen : how do you rest ? I already found camp circles but didn't figure out how to rest.

beuns - resting is not implemented. We are still on the fence about adding it. If it is added, you'd rest a bit (recover both some HP / SP) and then get a random monster roll. If you got lucky, you'd rest all the way to full recovery, if not lucky you'd be in a fight. What do you think? Worth adding?

That would surely change things in nightmare. We should think very well if we rest or continue toward a camp. That will be a difficult choice to make. I'm thinking, will there be some sort of bonus to the monster roll if you try to rest in a place you have thoroughly clean before ? I mean : take high risks to clean a good piece of tunnel and then get back a little to rest with good chances that you won't be awake by monsters. Ps : I really like the idea, it reminds me of Baldur's Gate and as I have said in another thread, I loved the game

For me I also think resting could definitely affect decisions and how abilities are used, wonder the questions beuns asked, and also that it would be a nice option w/ risk to have.

Wow! I hadn't read that blog post before - I love the ideas, definitely implement them!
I have a few questions/thoughts: firstly, does this mean you won't be able to upgrade abilities at camping places after the alpha? And are you still going to add missions to activate them? Are these changes just for the alpha dungeon - I hope so because the blog post sounds awesome!
Secondly, how high will the risk be of facing monsters while resting? I think it would actually have to be quite low to be worth it as you're only going to rest when your heroes' health is low and you are short on potions. At that point an encounter would almost certainly mean death on higher difficulties. The risk would definitely have to be there and noticable to deter people from using it all the time, but having it too high could easily mean the end of your squad.

@jr8825 - campsites have the option to allow spending XP. They will be used in parts of the game where a town is far away or very hard to reach. Campsites can be locked, we just didn't author any into the first phase.
That would be the risk of Resting ... on Nightmare Resting could literally get you killed. You'd want to use campsites whenever possible.
