May I suggest a speed multiplier option for the game? This would be subtly different than just speeding party movement, it would also speed up the deployment of the enemy
Off the top of my head I think this might involve shutting down the "step sounds" so that there are no errors in step-sound consistency, when the game is "sped up".

rabidbite - we are looking into a "fast forward" type option, but we aren't sure if its feasible yet or how it would affect the different phases of play.
