Have you ever tried moving a long distance on the map ... more than just 5 or 10 squares, but say 20 or more? Often you have had to scroll the screen away from your party. You tap once ... you think you have started, but you're not sure. You haven't got sound activated so you can't hear the footsteps. You tap again just to be sure, but then realize that the second tap might actually have stopped the party. You double-tap in case the single-tapping works. You hold your phone on a 37 degree tilt to try and make sure the game is at an optimal angle. Only after you move back towards your party do you see if they are actually moving or still standing still (and admiring the stonework).
All of this could be made so much more pleasant if you only had a little pulsing green (or blue or yellow or red) indicator that shows the destination square that the party is moving towards. You of course still have the blue circle for the double-tap action, but this one actually shows your destination at a glance providing you with 1) Reassurance that your party is moving; and 2) Confidence that you have actually selected the right square to take them to

Good idea, something like our current "confirm" ring, but maybe a different color?

slayernz - the screen will pan a bit to the destination if you hit it correctly. We will take a look at this one for the future.
