You've just heard some movement ahead and your thief is stealthy enough to gain the initiative. You decide to use the last of your Thief's SP points to cast a Farsight spell in the unknown area to the north of your location. However, as you go to swipe/slide the map over to the new area that you want to cast on, the spell triggers, and your valuable SP gets cast on a location two squares to the left of you!
Can we get the single-tap = select a square, then second-tap = cast on that square? It would save casting in the wrong spot/location.

slayernz - Cory and I will talk about this one for Talents that target the floor. Maybe in that specific case it could be useful. Thoughts from others?

Hmm, sorry slayernz, but I'm going to have to disagree. I've had mis-tapped spell casts a couple times, but it's not enough of an issue that I think a new system would be a good fix. That would really slow down everything. I say that the single tap cast should stay. HOWEVER! Some of the skills seem to reset the selected talent (disarming touch, tears, lock pick, farsight) and some will let you cast multiple times without reselecting the talent (firebolt, empowered attacks, ethereal anguish). What is the reasoning behind this? Would it be possible to normalize this, ideally so everything aside from floor-talents just leaves the talent selected until we click out of it?

I've only run into this issue with Farsight, all the other spells work fine without a confirmation for me. I was having miscasts about 3/4ths of the time when I used Farsight. The only remedy was to zoom out more so that I could cast the spell without having to scroll and potentially have the game cast instead of scroll. I also had better luck when I waited a couple of seconds after selecting Farsight before I tried to scroll and cast. For some reason this also lowered my error rate.
I could see potential to run into the same type of issue while disarming traps, though I find I'm usually closer to the trap when I disarm it so don't need to scroll.

Yeah trap hunting is usually within the screen range when you cast, so isn't as much of a factor as the long-distance casting, so maybe it's only Farsight that needs to be double-tapped. Agreed with johndramey though - talents should be selected until you manually deselect. For disarming touch, you often want to check multiple squares. Unless you have that talent in one of your 3 quick-slots, you have to go into the talent menu each time.

We will look at the auto-deselect groups again, but it is the way it is right now because if they stay automatically selected, you're going to cast them a lot without wanting to. And then you're going to ask for more confirmation sparkles, and then ...
We introduced auto-deselect about the 100th time we Healed the Outlander once and then tried to select him and Healed him again.

But he needs to feel loved, and the Cleric just likes to feel wanted too. ... maybe this should be one of the "options" in the ever-increasing options request list:)

Me too, I have to weigh in with johndramey on this one. I can't say it better than he did. I am scrolling all over the Kindle, and never cast Farsight when I didn't mean too. slayernz Sorry Big Cat, first time I've disagreed with you, hope I don't get a paw swat. So I'm still at 99.9% average.

it's fine John Robinson, I just need to be more careful when I cast Farsight in future

slayernz : I have exactly the same problem (maybe a lot of fat-fingering...) So as a workaround I tried starting my scrolling where I know that there's nothing (i.e a wall, an empty space of some sort, etc...) and it works pretty well. Hope that help

Yeah that's what I'm doing - or i'm zooming out in anticipation of the spell cast

I second the zoom-out before casting theory. Works pretty well for me.

I haven't had this issue because I am constantly zooming out whenever my party enters a new cell. Perhaps something could be added to the code to keep the zoom level at the point you put it at instead of constantly resetting it to zoomed all the way in.
