Or even better .. change the hour glass icon to the Glom icon. That way during non-combat, you can quickly/easily collapse/expand your party out. There is no need to have the hour glass button there in non-combat situations because you have unlimited moves anyway, so let's take back that little bit of real estate for another well-used button

slayernz - thanks, and a good suggestion. We have been mulling over this one as the meaning of End Turn has changed and the out-of-combat "turns" cycle tightens up. I believe we will get there with this RFE, but just not quite yet. That button still has some valid uses for us developers! Specifically, it "saves" the game when it is clicked, and it also advances the turn which will expire effects. So ... not helpful to players at all! Thanks for the suggestion, on the list!

Oh ... nice to know it saves the game at that point ... I'll use it as that until it is changed or the glom button comes out somewhere else

Then it might be enough to just cycle it to a "save" button. That's a very handy feature, even though the game autosaves I still lose a bit of my exploration if I quit after walking around a bit. Having a way to manually save would be nice!

johndramey - we are working on tightening the auto-save routine to avoid data loss. We don't like a save button

After a little test. I found a good reason to use the hour glass after combat. I'll come out of combat with Vermin Rot, and can make it wear off without healing in a camp.
It seems like an "End Turn" in free movement. If you cast stone skin on the Outlander and keep hitting the hour glass you will see it go down by one round each time.
Did I get that right guys and gals?

@johnrobison - as it is today, yes, that is a helpful tool. It also grinds the turns of your own buffs.
In the next release, the hour glass goes away and is replaced by the glom button (group move). We are working on the turn cycle during free move when there is no combat going on, that will allow your buffs / enemy curses to run out.

Will that also trigger the 'turn save', so getting out of the game after an extended time in free move will save somewhere near where you got out rather then where you started moving in free move?

evmaker - it will help with that. Are you having this problem? Losing travel state? At the moment, you can click End Turn and it will save your location. You can return to the menu and it will save your location. It should quite often save your location to the database so you never lose much.

You can return to the menu and it will save your location. It should quite often save your location to the database so you never lose much. Yeah, I do use end turn to "save" the turn so when I get out it returns me to there, I started doing that because before then I was frequently going back a long ways of exploring when I got out of the program. My problem (which may well be fixed when the hardware button support comes in) is that when I get out of a program I typically use the home button on the phone (droid), and right now I don't think that causes any sort of save, so I'd explore awhile and hit home to get out to browser, or set an alarm or what have you, come back later and I'd be back at the beginning of the free turn, hence the using end turn to save now. So I was just worried that after end turn is removed, that the 'tracking turns while in free move' would still be saving per se as well, or if I'd need to just make it a habit to hit menu before getting out as you said.

evmaker - we are working to insure that it is "saving as you go" so that this never becomes a concern.

The confirm on the "menu" button will also help significantly because the amount of times I've bumped that by accident is greater than thrice

Just finished the starter, reached Granthorn on easy. The UI is really allot of fun to use. Now I don't care how long the Outlander has to scratch under his loin cloth because of persistent Vermin Rot. But you would have to pry the glom button out of my cold dead stylus. It is just one of the best features of the UI. Showing the next ten talent levels is terrific, along with so many other improvements. You guys are really taking good care of us. The balance on the starter dungeon is perfect on easy. In Star Traders I played many a game in easy before moving up to normal. Even now have yet to play Difficult with much finesse. The easy on Star Traders really made me fascinated with the game after I had just purchased it. The easy level on Heroes of Steel gives me that same experience. Just can't say enough good things about the P2 update.

John Robinson - thanks! Glad you've found the improvements so beneficial. We are working on the persistence of curses and buffs alike.
